Sorry if I'm starting to annoy you, but I just got into this stuff and I really don't know all the files and stuff. Could you explain to me step by step what I need to do?
About what you should do: set up first German East Africa. About the instructions please refer to the web site linked and the code quoted in this thread. About the provinces IDs please see my post above.

For German east Africa, For the ID, I've chosen ALG, which is Algeria's(or i think it's Algeria's) id. Arturius said that any country's with # ,means their disabled. So could you verify that that id can be used.

Also, since this is going to be an update to v .43, maybe we should finish off any unfinished scenarios. Like the 1917 scenario isn't finished. A few battles aren't finished. So another change for the new update could be finishing the uninfinished battle scenarios and add one or two new ones.

Keith I agree that there is a lot to do but if continue to bring stuff to the table we never start. Regarding the colonial war have you had a look at the WWII North Africa Scenario? Please take that as example.

You can also use ID's of that countries which aren't appear in the world of the 1914-Mod. Look at the revolt.txt. Some ID's are marked with "#" to be unused.

For example ID "SCA". Originally the ID is used for Scandinavia, but in 1914 it is disabled. So you can use it for your plans. As I said before, never change the ID. It is a constant value. If it possible you should use for the african colonies, because of overview reasons, unused ID's of african countries.
"#" means that the software ignores what is written behind

So, I can use one of those id's for East Africa and the other colonies. I also wanted to make country's representing the Sokeh's Rebellion and The Maji-Maji rebellion. But we'll get to those later.

Hi Morris. Your help is more than welcome. Currently we are discussing the WWI in the colonies and first we have to address the German East Africa. As you well know the size of the divisions and the quality it was very different from the European standard so my idea is to take as example the WWII North Africa to set up a limited scenario.

Keith sometime you are unbelievable.You can use those ID and that it was said by Arturius. You asked, as usual, once again and I answered quoting Arturius and explaining to you the meaning of the "#" and this is the 3rd time.

I'm really sorry for all the questions, but i don't ever recall you saying that i could use them. You just explained what the # meant. I asked if you could veify that i could use them. I don't catch on very well when people aren't being specific. Just say yes you can use them or just a short simple yes. Sorry for all the questions and wasting time but I just never go along unless I know for sure. I just need a simple yes or no and I'll get to it. So I'll use Algeria's id for German East Africa. The next timke I ask if I can use something or whatever just give me a short simple yes or no and I won't be asking three times in a row.

The Reason why I have the federich Karl is because i'm planning on making it the SMS Mowe'. Actually, Ostafrika is supposed to be made by event. Is there even a need for an inc. file? I guess I could put it in the 1917 scenario.

Why do you want to put it in the 1917 scenario? About the troops we should add some bonus for movement and fight. They were small in number but very quick and tough. This applies to the land leader as well.

Well, since German East Africa is supposed to be made by event, and an inc. file is what a country would start with at the beginning the game. Since this country and every other country needs an inc. file if they start the game independant, then i could put it in the 1917 scenario because it'll be independant by then. Cardus, i could not aggree with you more. There were 15000 Germans against 300000 allied troops and they did not lose a single battle. Sometimes they had to retreat when outnumbered but they never lost. We should also add a bonus which gives them a better chance in battle to make it more historical.

Why aren't you use historical names of the troops? The Schutztruppe of Ostafrika splitted into 14 companies and were named simply: 1. Kompagnie, 2. Kompagnie, 3. Kompagnie, ... 14. Kompagnie.

What percenatage of strength in a Light Infantry division would be accurate for a company sized unit. There needs to be some kind of bonus which allows the schutztruppe a better chance of winning battles. Cuz with the number of troops there will be, in the game they won't stand a chance.
