Well, I like the first idea better because it will allow Rif events and the war between France and the Rif, but it's not up to me to decide.

1915 War Event

One of the issues that needs resolution is an ahistorical event chain that would lead to war in 1915 if war does not break out in 1914. It must be an event chaint that is somewhat possible and would genuinely lead to a diplomatic crisis that could erupt into war.

I'd imagine that the diplomatic situation in the winter of 1914-1915 would be exceptionally unstable - so there is room for some leeway here.

I've put together a schematic proposal, let me know what you think:

September 10th, 1914 - Preserve the Honour of the Habsburgs - Austria-Hungary Event

Trigger (exists = SER, SER isn't a puppet, atwar = no, date)

As long as the Serbian Black Hand is a functioning body in Serbia they represent a direct threat to the Habsburg family and Austro-Hungarian interests in the Balkans. A few of the highest ranking members of the government are quietly calling for a covert act of retribution to preserve the "honour of the Habsburgs".

October 18th, 1914 - Support the IMRO? - Austria-Hungary Event

The group, based largely in Bulgaria, advocates the formation of an independent Macedonia. The IMRO offers the best opportunity to oppose the Serbian government without directly affecting Habsburg interests. Covert support of this organization can greatly potentially lead to instability in the Serbian government.

December 16th, 1914 - The IMRO - Bulgaria event

The IMRO, dedicated to an independent Macedonia, asks for the tacit approval of the King of the IMRO's presence in western Bulgaria. In return, the IMRO will refrain from revolutionary activities in Bulgaria and refrain from embarrassing the King and making public the most open secret in royal courts.

February 9th, 1915 - Death of Dragutin Dimitrijevic - Serbia Event

The assailant was captured and after heavy interrogation revealed his connections with the a Macedonian nationalist movement based in Bulgaria. The Serbian government immediately calls for the destruction of the IMRO.

Many in the government are calling for an alliance with Austria-Hungary to counter the Serbian threat.

The Bulgarian government is asking for an alliance with the Central Powers to counter the Serbian threat. If war breaks out, Bulgarian entry can certainly lead to the destruction of Serbia with the caveat of ceding them Macedonia.

February 23th, 1915 - Politika Makes the Connection - Serbia Event
Vladislav F. Ribnikar, editor of the Serbian newspaper Politika, with the assistance of many contacts in the neighboring Habsburg Empire, has just exposed a connection between the Internal-Adrianople Revolutionary Organization (IMRO) and the Austro-Hungarian government. This covert assistance connects Austria-Hungary with the assassination of Dragutin Dimitrijevic two weeks ago.

February 27rd, 1915 - The Sazanov Declaration - Russia Event

This Event chain is very good, I like it.

But I have another suggestion for the "Austria-Hungary's Response" event and the way to war.

February 28th, 1915 - Austria-Hungary's Response - U11 Event

March 2nd 1915-Austria-Hungary's Reaction if Germany chooses not to support them
Germany doesn't support Austria-Hungary and made clear that they have no interest in a European war. If Austria-Hungary decides to declare war, Germany will take this as a reason to break the alliance.

b) Cancel alliance with Germany and declare war (leave alliance with Germany, no dissent) 10% for AI

I'm thinking of including another event for Germany if Austria decides to declare war in the Austria Response event. In this event Germany can decide whether to go into war with Austria or to cancel the alliance. But I'm not sure if this can be made, because Germany's the Alliance leader.

Remember that we already have an event file for a 1915 war, although I see no harm in including another possibility such as this.

I believe that the Sazonov Declaration is exceptionally far fetched for a foreign minister whose regard for pan-Slavism was somewhat negligible, serving an autocrat who was eager to avoid war because of the accentuated chances of revolution.

It would be a tremendous leap for Russia to demand Bosnia-Herzegovina from the Austro-Hungarians, and I cannot envisage France and Britain sanctioning such a bellicose statement.

What appears much likelier to me is this: Vienna refutes Politika's story; Russia demands that an investigation is carried out by the great powers, led by an American to promote its impartial credentials, although including Serbian participation; Austria-Hungary, unwilling to countenance other powers digging dirt in its back garden, appeals to Germany to provide diplomatic support; Germany, reluctant that the sovereignty of Austria-Hungary should be undermined, refuses to support the international investigation and backs Austria-Hungary; Serbia steps up its mobilisation against IMARO, supported by Russia; Austria-Hungary demands that Serbia withdraw from the border with Bulgaria and threatens war if it does not.

One last thing: in the case of Bulgaria and Austria-Hungary signing an alliance agreement; Romania and Greece would immediately pull closer to Serbia to prevent Bulgaria revising the settlement reached at the end of the 1912-13 Balkan Wars.

No more stony than how it actually occurred.

The original schematic event chain was a bit of a stretch, but this is assuming the likely possibility that Serbia completely acquiesced to A-H's demands. The new version is much more appropriate.

One thing: the more events, the more likely that the AI will choose an event that will not fire war. I'd say get rid of the February 25th event, call the Feb. 26th event "Russia's Reaction to the Serbian Article"

And for the life of me, I couldn't find the original 1915 events.

OK, I'll get rid of the Austrian Reaction to Politika-event. I was thinking of throwing it out, but I posted them.
So the February 26th event is called:

So I'm ready to start coding the new way to war. Should I start or should I wait?

Swedish Alliance Events

I've translated the old HoI1 provice IDs to HoI2 for the German-Swedish Alliance events. I'm still running some tests with Sweden, so far the only one of these chains that has been run is "Offer Aaland and Finland". It worked fine. The Aaland-only option has had it's province ID changed, and the "nothing" chain should work as well, but they have been left commented-out for the time being.

This composes the whole of the Sweden events file, excluding the Boden Fortress event.

OK, I've tested the code out in the game and made some fixes and revisions. I have also filled out the triggers, combined 4 events into 2, and added some Greek/Romanian events in case of Bulgarian aggression.

I also moved the descriptions to the event_text folder. I always crash when there are long text strings in the events folder.

As far as I know all TGW events, if not made obsolete by HOI2-game possibilities, will be included in the mod.
Allenby told me that events are currently a low priority, as AI and other matters are more pressing.

Regarding 1915 events, the "Death of Dragutin Dimitrijevic" event should also remove Dimitrijevic as leader.

And if Bulgaria declares war to Serbia, Serbian mobilisation event has to fire. Currently it fires only when Serbia is at war with Austro-Hungary.

Other than that, event chain looks fine.
