Hi,
I was thinking of a few more events that could be applied to any country. Psot your own event ideas and what do you think of these..?

Increased power to trade unions-
Consumer demand increase, more manpower, reduced IC. This would happen in a left wind democratic country (maybe if you overproducing IC for consumer?)

Decreased power to trade unions
The opposite of the one above.

Corrupt Minister
Decreased money supply over a period of time (deomcratic nations). Possibly increased dissent.

Purge Army
Old guards are purged from the army who are then replaced with the upcoming commanders (only in authoritarian regimes)

Civil rights movement
Probably in the USA or South Africa. Manpower increases as well as IC.

Legality of DoW questioned
I think something like this already exists but this would happen i a democratic country who declare war on a country with insuffiecnt belligerence (increase dissent)

I would also like to see the Nannjing massacre event removed due to obvious reasons.

Please post your own ideas on events that should be in the game.

Keaton

I'd like to see events relating to Ethiopia, but that's just me. Specifically its liberation, because it always ends up being British from 1940something to 1948.

And why is that?

Because if you mention german war crimes you get banned, but japnese and russian war crimes are fair game. So it wold be best to allow war crimes for all countries, or remove the ones already in place. Since paradox has stated that they dont care how inaccurate it is, but thier still not putting in German crimes, the second option is the only fair or slightly realistic one avliable.

Like what? "Zionist Governments back plans for Jewish state"?

The time period is too short for events like these i think. There are a few events for the arabic nations however.

That's because in Germany many things dealing with the Holocaust are illegal, or at least a touchy subject legally speaking. And Germany, unlike China or Japan or Russia, is one of the biggest markets for Paradox games.

What you're saying doesn't make sense anyway. We should make the game more unrealistic because it has to be somewhat unrealistic?

No thats Paradox policy, company doesnt want to be sued because its showing swastikas or other forbidden stuff like Holocoust. You can either appreciate that or just keep on complayning , but that would result in a ban.

Respectfully, Bholstege, I agree with maxhomer . . . if you want the Nanjing massacre gone, delete it from the event file. If you want holocaust events, write some. I mean no offense, but it's a bit like complaining about the sun coming up. 1) That's just the way it is, and 2) if it wasn't for the sun (or the game), you'd have nothing to enjoy OR complain about.

"Although my chinese friend told me 30,000,000 (yes we realise he was wrong)."

- That's the estimated number of Chinese killed during the Japanese occupation (well, it's actually 25 to 35 million, so 30's in the middle.)

Well it's not illegal to mention the Holocaust in Germany, that wouldn't make much sense. What indeed is forbidden is to deny it.

AFAIK the reason for Nanjing being included was the political effect the massacre had, while most of the German war crimes didn't influence their enemies' politics very much (sadly)

Or how about the UN creating the partition plan in '47? Or even better, "Keaton posts more flamebait".

Speaking of bait, Keaton, can you answer my question from the Weekly AAR Showcase thread? Can you trace your ancestry to the highlands (or even lowlands) of Ethiopia?
