I had a whole lot of stuff written here, but I decided to press delete when I realized how arrogant and stupid I was being. I'm sorry for distracting us so much from the main point. Just as long as every last event we put in can happen throughout a long period of time (for example, an event for the russian revolution would not be set to happen in october 1917 but in any war as long as there was rebel control of the capital and high serfdom), everything should be fine.
Luck should not be a factor in our predictions of the future; events that happen on set dates must be thrown out to stop our own favoritisms and fancies from being forced upon people, that's why I find things like monarch and leader lists bad (and why I had that "party" idea in which you elect certain parties, the elections of which determine your the skills of your monarch, whose name is irrelevant).
As for leader lists, if we could have your normal colonels gain experience through time but still die now and then, that'd be great but since we can't, military leaders are the only thing really left up for discussion. Unless of course you want me to shut up once and for all about enforcing our cruel visions upon the games of the people, in which case I will.
