I am trying to mod events for jump drives (after a forum thread about dangerous technologies not being dangerous) and found some limitations. Essentially, one of the ideas that I have to make jump drives dangerous is for spaced to be destabilised causing wormholes (and maybe even hyperlanes) to be created/collapse, system wide effects when a fleet jumps out of a system, and other effects. I've looked through events and haven't found what I need. I was going to add these to the pinned modding suggestions thread but thought that I should ask if these are possible to mod already in case I have just missed it.

  1. Is it possible to determine the from system and to system of a fleet using jump drives? (I think that the game would need to update the "on_jump_drive" event to give same scope as "on_entering_gateway" and "on_entering_wormhole" events. Currently it only has fleet scope but would benefit from having the from system and to system also available.)
  2. Is it possible to determine the from system and to system of a fleet using hyperdrives? (I don't think that an event exists for this and a new "on_entering_hyperdrive" event needs to be created with the same scopes as above).
  3. Is it possible to add and remove hyperlanes during game (I think that the ability to add hyperlanes during galaxy generation is being added by Niven - refer below from dev diary 112)?
    This means that an L-Gate can only send a fleet to the L-Cluster, but once in the L-Cluster the fleet can travel to any L-Gate in the galaxy. This bypass type, along with the ability to create whole new areas of the galaxy (and specify their location relative to another system or the galactic core) is available for modders to use as part of the free Niven update.

  4. It is possible to add wormholes but is it possible to remove wormholes?
  5. Is it possible to add new galactic terrain (e.g. effects on system from black holes)?
