Event "The Patriarchate of Constantinople heals the Schism" with Byzantium bug

Hi there,

I'm playing as Byzantium and I'm just about to "Restore the Pentarchy" which, as I know from previous games I've played, will make some Catholic nations Orthodox or give them a -3 stab malus. The problem is, that this event triggers me and I get to decide whether to become Orthodox (which I am) or stay Catholic (which I'm not).

I'm currently playing the V 1.33.2.0 (France) with following DLCs:
-El Dorado
-Wealth of Nations
-Mare Nostrum
-Third Rome
-Res Publica
-Rights of Man
(No Purple Phoenix)

Is there any possibility to change that bug?

The bug appeared in the Purple Phoenix version of that mission in 1.31, so it looks like they've fixed one but not the other.

If you don't play for achievements, you could fix the bug by changing the line "country_event = { id = flavor_byz.2 }" in "missions/Byzantine_Missions.txt" to

every_country = {
                    limit = { 
                        religion = catholic 
                        knows_country = BYZ
                    }
                    country_event = { id = flavor_byz.2 }
                }

Or you could activate the purple phoenix DLC again(if the event worked in a previous playthrough, you had that DLC) an use a run file with the following content to get the new missions:

swap_non_generic_missions = yes
