Event of Texas joining the US

What are the requirements for this event to fire? It usually fires for me pretty instantly after the initial war between texas and mexico is finished. Its now gone 4 years (1841 already) since the end of the war and texas is just sitting quiet down there. What are they waiting for??

At what speed you running the game?

Everything above 'below normal' screwing up event firing mechanism

Seriously... even with below normal on occassion event not firing when supposed to, but with low speed game handling events much better. You must find mix which works for you. I running at above normal, even if I know that it will be a lot of mixups along the way. With fast+ a lot of events remaining dormant for xx years or forever.

Nah.. Last time when I played without time limit (as UK on fast) Texas was still on the map in 1958 when I got bored with game. :wacko:
