Having played Sudden Strike 4 and Blitzkrieg 3 lets me appreciate Steel Division even more. Seems like the average gamer is not ready for games where you can't just blob up units and attack move them across the map.

Too bad it seems most players just want to do 10v10 on 4v4 maps.

I wasn't a mod when he was banned, but it wasn't exactly undeserved. Thankfully the Eugen forums doesn't have to deal with the likes of him for the time being, but then again, it's not exactly thriving either. Just a few spats about 404 and Euro politics really.

Perhaps.

Specifically from the marshals there were some people banned, but it was because they stepped on the wrong toes and not because they were incompetent.

I would take a competent asshole every single time over 5 semi-competent people if I wwould have been in charge. (I was happy to talk balance with for example Patton who is a pretty big cunt, but was at the time good at the game and had at least some things of value to say.)

Better than 10v10s on 1v1 maps like in WG...

I dunno, at least those are tactical games without unit spam. The SD maps are too small for 10 players so it is the most spammy shit ever.

Yes. Big difference between 10 people each fielding between 2-3 high-end units or 15 cheaper units a game on a 1v1 vs 10 people fielding entire decks on a 4v4.

I've enjoyed my fair share of RD tactical games and found them to be pretty fun...granted, a change in map would have been nice as Mud Fight for the 10,000th time is a bit much.

I actually try to play games with maps that are bigger. I like 3v3 matches on 4v4 maps. Gives you more room for trying things, finding gaps, creating ambushes, and the like. It can create more tension and drama as you watch a bulge in the lines grow but then get cut off at the base when someone goes for the road feeding it.

Yeah, Eugen has a really wonderful design here. There are problems in the design, but it's a cut above the competition.
