i think it would be. i just saw this becasue it was covered in a case i had to read. the reason i had to read it was becasue the lords laid down something related to murder, but also said alot about the military being subject to the authourity of the courts. thought hey clearly treat soldiers differently, especially when on operation. many case where civil courts tried soldiers for crimes in NI they let them off were an ordinary person would be convicted.

as for removing senior officer, it would be severly frowned upon unless it was very obvious they were looped. The ideas of chain of command would be valued above all. so only in very exceptional circumstances would a person not be tried and convicted of mutiney or whatever. or in the case of an army officer disobeying civillian authority treason.

Wait a minute...the Vice Presidency was vacated when Vasco took office, and he never appointed a new one. I was never appointed VP, and any VP choice would have to be approved by the National Assembly in any event...oh my. I completely forgot about this...
Look at this:

from the PREBA:
II. If the office of the Vice-President is vacant, the President shall, within the first 72 hours of the beginning of such vacancy, nominate a Vice-President who shall only be sworn if a vote of the National Assembly, called immediately after the nomination, returns a majority in favor of confirming the Vice-Presidential nominee. If the vote fails to return a majority, the President shall submit another nominee for consideration by the National Assembly within 72 hours.

Which means, of course, Vasco is in violation of the constitution since he hasn't submitted a Vice-Presidential candidate, and it's definitely been more than 72 hours since the beginning of his presidency.

Phelbas,

Thanks for the info. This is is similar to what I am operating under, with the exception that rather thean the House of Lords, the highest appeal in Eutopia would be the High Court. These are the points I was trying to make under the military attorney's press release in the newslink thread.

The only thing I had not followed was the bit about "most cases of serious crime soliders are trued by the civilian crown courts".

Do you have any examples of exactly what sorts of crimes fell under those cases? Or was the rule that if it occured on domestic soil, off base, it was a civilian matter, if it was on foreign soil, on base, or on duty it was a military matter?

Just curious to see how it works over there.

Hajji,

Teano is back only for participation in the consitutional debate, and mostly just to pose some interesting questions. :)

I'd prefer to come back to the game IC as the anti-Teano, Renard Rouge, but nobody's really enthusiastic about that.

Thanks, though.

Ask Blade! or Mel....:p

It all depends on how many people vote for your ticket. If it is only you then at least you have inheritted well and will not end up on the street selling black-market papayas. But I don't see how you can expect to win a seat if no one else votes for your NA ticket. The math's just not there.

But who knows, stranger things have....um, well, no, not really. You need to get some more votes. :D
