Hyperbole? A generous word for "miscounted", and I was wondering who would catch me after I tripped up. Yes, Leary and Vandelft have been our two "no show" Presidents. Leary was Speaker when Gonzov offed himself, but had already done another Craig Ashley Disappearing Act at the time, so he was promptly removed and Glasser was elected. Vandelft is the current incarnation of the same routine.
So yes, the next one will be five. An interesting note: we've had two PoL and two ELP Presidents this term in alternating order. Neither of the PoL guys have shown up.

At this rate , becomming the VP will almost certainly mean you will become president at some point.
Edit : It also looks like this new speaker election will kick off our old partisan politics again , whoohoo! Actually , I just got my first punch in at the GA

Actually you'd be hard pressed to find a handful more people who've been more "engaged" than I've been, at least for the last month.
I admit to being in a bit of a lull around the time I went on holiday in mid-March, and it took me a bit to get back into the game, which was also in a lull. I thought about quitting actually, disappearing into the "black void"; and it was Mel appointing Sykes speaker and UB's chess game that got me back into it.
I admit I've been "clueless" on some things, mostly because they happened, or at least started to happen, at a time when I was in this lull. I'm trying to get back into it; though I admit I don't like Sykes as much as I did Josephus. And I admit that I really need foils to bring out and animate my character, as Josephus did with Jake, Amric and all the rest
Anyways, not taking this personally. The backbencher has a fair criticism to make of Sykes' speaker role. Just defending myself OOC.

Yeah, I know Hawk. It was not personal. I just felt I needed to defend my apparent lack of full participation.
Anybody who is here and participating is appreciated. If you don't get to continue as President of Speaker, you could ask to fill the currently vacant Interior Ministry position if you prefer that to the thrust and cut or parry of the GA.
The minister at my church has resigned effective late July. So, if there is a gap later in the summer before the interim pastor that we will be looking for can arrive, I may get to try giving a sermon in RL, without the benefit of Woody's Doctor of Divinty degree. Certainly we can get different substitute preacher to just come and deliver the sermon, but it is a small church and the cost could be a consideration.
Thus, if we can call the writing we do here literature, and literature is certainly an art, then this will be yet another entry in the "Life Imitates Art" category.

If I remember right, there was a "Deja v'EU" thread in here waaaaay back in the day. People shared their moments where Eutopia and the real world crossed, when they ran into a Mr. Joe Sephus or something similar. It was very eerie, I wonder if it's still around.
