Ah, but is Leary President yet? Everybody assumes he is, but the argument could be made that he'd be being elected twice in a row and would therefore be ineligible. Certainly, since it'd be from twice being elected Speaker, the case would have a stronger founding.
Of course, Berenguerr would fight it either way. Just for the hell of it. What, you think he cares whether anybody likes him? Especially since I'm considering playing him with more quasi-messianic (but seemingly uniquely in a non-mad way) tendencies now, based on Gonzov's farewell to him.
If Leary came back and got essentially grandfathered in, that'd probably be the ELP's best chance of getting somebody not from the PoL in to power. Arguments about picking the wrong man for the job could probably allow us to stalemate it for a while or put another party in (although that'd likely be worse for us, I'm just throwing out possibilities here.)
