I think you are right on one point, and one only. Foul language and other rude suggestions on this site above, are beneath the code of commitment and usually good humor of the official, semi official, and non official folks who are its regular denizens.
I will irritate you slightly by suggesting that if this had been your work or major contribution, and was what you viewed as part of your career-path, or ground-breaking work (which it probably WILL be for some), it seems quite likely that a certain amount of self restraint might be lost as someone threatens to ruin your paycheck, or chance at using the engine again in a later release that might directly not only influence the course of your life, but the well-being of your family.
Yep, I think some folks went overboard in excoriating Qp-doll, but, unless you are prepared to tell me you would not consider the threat to your livelihood and your family in a less-than rational light as things occurred, clearly some slack has to be cut.
DO I buy the 'yeah I did drugs and they ruined my life but I can't be a hypocrite and warn my children against it' logic? Only by the same logic that I can justify learning something and NOT TEACHING it to someone else! Heck, what is THIS FORUM all about for that matter?
If I did something wrong in my past, I certainly will admit it, warn others against it, and suggest reasons why it should not be done so THEIR lives will not be filled with pitfalls and guilt. I will TRY, however, to do it with reasonable language.
Now that I have irritated you somewhat, let me go back to my original reason for bothering to write this and support you at least in part:
One of two cases is true: Either Qp is full of air and is simply stirring the pot (say a 'gunner-esque' type of person) and has nothing, or he does have an early copy.
IF he doesn't have it, who cares?
If he does, there are two possible explanations. As someone said, they tend to both point back to SF or whoever the CD printer is. Our friend Qp either works at one of these places and stole it, or knows/had contact with someone who works there in Marketing or some other area where early Promo copies would be available.
Only one thing seems to have slipped the minds of us all... Is the guy a REVIEWER who just got his a week or two early?? Is THAT why he said he would be buying the game, because the copy given to him would, as is the case with some media-employers, not belong to him personally? Maybe he would not like to admit who he is because he KNOWS he would be inundated with ra-ra boys? Why do I say this? Because, _I_ have seen something like _this_ once before. A cautionary tale, for all.

Rio, your calm, reasoned response is a well appreciated change in this thread, but I believe the reaction to your last point (quoted above) will be a 'Why didn't he just SAY so?' Without giving any details, he could easily have mentioned that he had been provided a promotional copy for review purposes. It's not as if the game is a secret.

Quite right Maturin and Hartman, and I am at fault for not being more complete in my cases(...actually, I don't recall ever being concise OR precise---useless academics).
Is this person 'playing it FOR' the reviewer, WITH the reviewer, is the Reviewer's EDITOR, son/daughter (COULD be a daughter...c'mon!) of one of the same...is it a Reviewer who is not supposed to have a copy yet (on this of course I have no idea of the timetable). Each of these are conditions where the poster might not neccessarily wish to reveal who he is or under what conditiions he is interested in the information, while at the same time WE, who have good reason to hate 'cutters', might wish to pause and consider before levelling the barrels of the shotgun.

Rio, I agree with You in not supporting the 'shoot first, ask questions later' approach. But maybe he/she should then at least have hinted at some 'innocent explanation' instead of adopting this 'don´t ask questions, I just happen to have it' stance.
