While awaiting the release of EU, I stumbled upon a game I felt that the people in this forum would also like to know about; Empire Earth. From what I've sen it also looks like a winner. While more in the vein of AoC (which the best game of last year), it also deals with the great nations and empire of history. It also covers the entire history and possible future of the human race (albeit probably missing some of the details found in EU) in real-time. I just hope it can live up to its hype and EU. (of course I've haven't played it yet, but I'm puting my faith in my fellow players from across the ocean) We'll see if American programmers can match European ones for quality. (of no doubt, I'm sure) Either way, the gaming horizon looks good. Happy hunting, gentlemen...

Although empire earth looks interesting it has almost nothing incommon with EU. AoE was good in multiplayer /playing the same civ with two players was a great idea) but the single player game was very boring. Just survive the first assaults and you won the game, harder leves just meant that it was harder in the start, but eventually you had ridden out the storm and won every map.

But well have to wait and see, as usual :)

Empire Earth is almost directly from AoE.

The differences are unique however. With the addition of 12 epochs(periods) and 500,000 years of gameplay. A more accurate Diplomacy. And Buildings no like in civ add benefits for each building type.

Also addition of heros is a nice addition.

They are not being released at the same time.

The Big summer show down will be between Empire Earth, and Warcraft III.

Civ III has no release date. But I suspect a fall or winter release. Civ III will be awsome from what I have seen.
