I'd have to agree that China shouldn't be played, just in my opinion. I feel it can really unbalance the game, and, while that would certainly help me (I'm not going to colonize anywhere and it would give me an ally against Russia in the late game), I think China, if played correctly and if it gets lucky, can be impossible to bring down, especially in the 16th and 17th centuries. Just my two cents though.

As England, Portugal, Holland and Sweden, 'decently' played, I wouldnt fear militarily China in the 16th and especially in the 17th century.

Also, in this game, China wont be played by a monster-veteran player. So it'll be an ok country. And European coutries will have to use more diplomacy than they usually use, to achieve success in the East, as it happened historically.

EDIT: We'll see how things will develop. If necessary, during the game, the GMs might consider give some historical penalties to China, depending on how good it is doing.

I also want a reconfirmation from these guys that they will play and are pleased with the roster:

1) Troy
2) Rinak or Okawoa
3) Eskimo - OK!
4) Duke of Austria

I will play, but this is my first multiplayer game, i've read 2 guides on multiplay, so I understand the rules. However if Rinak is more experianced then me I will gladly bow down and accept the role of an sub =). (If wished :p )

EDIT: I posted my ICQ on the first reply!!!

Apart of the time of troubles (and a player can do around them if needed) China is a monster. Remember, fighting against quite large MP at long range of your premier recruiting grounds.

Anyway, as I said, China had been tried. It simply doesn't work. No idea why people refuses to hear the voice of experience here :D

But anyway, I am Venice so what do I care. :p

Okowoa, the best for a inexpirient player, is, surely, the subrole. Subbing you would learn the tricks on the MP game that is completely different than the SP game.

However, I am waiting Rinak's confirmation. If he doesnt confirm until saturday, you'll be our Persia,ok? :)

EDIT: Welcome to the MP community, btw. :)

I'd certainly like to join. My nation choice does depend on what scenario it is. Since it looks like we'll have a bunch of players, I'm going for countries out of the normal way. In no particular order yet:

China
Mughals
Ottomans

he is for Persia? Anyhow would rather be subbed then crushed by Oslmai...

Lovely game you all have gotten here. If anyone can't play a session and can't contact one of the EGA's friends, contact me as a back up. If wanted of course.

But at your own risk.
