Is it considered spamming to show pictures of your home city within this forum? Even if it relates to something that comes up in general background talk in learning who your opponents/enemies : ) are? I obviously just skimmed over the forum rules, because I may need clarification.

Of course you were. This is textbook spamming. This is not game related conversation, which is suited for private communication means, the OT forum if you must.

You'll have to forgive me for being unaccustomed to the forum. I have been on very infrequently until just recently. Are we not allowed to speak about anything that is not strictly game related? If we stray outside any type of game related activity we are subject to some type of penalty? As I said, I am just becoming aware of this. Does that mean AAR's can stray outside the realm of strictly gaming too? Just hoping for clarification. Thank you.

Aye, same. I'm kinda confused about this issue. My intuition tells me that if those posts are from EGA5 players, to EGA5 players, it isn't spam, at least unless the GM says it is or game players request to move the conversation elsewhere. I know I don't mind Caslu and Nab discussing Rio, hell I think its kinda interesting. But, as kwfinn said, any clarification on what is and what is not considered spam would be welcome. I think none of us want to break a forum rule without knowing it.

You know - we have a focus problem here - maybe it is related to aftershock of everything that happened - it was not spamming for the sake of spamming but rather our inability to concentrate on any single particular subject for a long period of time. So, if we open thread about spiders *shudders* we would most surely end in EGA again :rofl:

Ok, then I'll create a thread for us, EGAers. First I'll contact Gaius today. If I cant get a forum in his site we wont need to use OT. If not OT is the place to go.

I'll create the subforum right now, look to my ICQ message tomorrow (i may not be around until the same sort of time as our ATE game, computer shopping and/or vicky MP), and we'll set you all up.

The principial use of this subforum is for gaming, not for slow chat. It's *not* a problem if you say something out of the gaming discussion now and then (that happens in each thread and I do it myself too), and it keeps the atmosphere friendly and a bit less focused on serious gaming

But when you use ~35 posts to chat about Brazil, spiders and do I know what more, it's a clear example of a string of nonsensical posts that have nothing to do with the use of this particular subforum. Hence, spam.

If you are in doubt if it's spamming, just don't do it. That will be enough in 99% of the cases.

Ok, we have relaxed a little bit since Ryo left, but that is normal human reaction. It is not like we opened the thread about game and then discussed about Moon and the stars. EGA's had many, many thousands posts till now - it is sometimes hard to keep focus on such a long run. Even much more serious meetings have a bad habbit of straying into "weather" discussion.

Point is that we had no idea we are spamming. I haven't taken seriously even your first post FAL.

A lot was brewing below the surface in the meantime though - you'll be informed in detail via. PM.

Hehe, thx. We was focused while Ryo was here - we had overfocus because he was slimy as politician and danger always lurked. That overfocus gave birth to this "no focus at all".

This "bla-bla" or spam how FAL and BiB called it, was simply releasing all that tension in some "nonsensical" chat about Brasil. So, while somebody can see it as a spam I see it as an angle of tension curve before and after Ryo left. But if someone wants I can find symbolical connection between Ryo and spiders in Amazon forest and we'll be back on track again.

Yes, the general idea is that threads in the game related forums contain gamerelated posts only. That's also why posts in this forum count and ones in the OT do not. Noone is going to kill anyone over a side post but this thread has been pushing the boundaries to the wrong side, I woudl say.
