2. I'm new to EU2 MP and before this I usually hosted, so yes, for me lag loans are a new feature. I was not aware of the need to keep that much cash at hand to avoid them. I mean, keeping almost 1000d. in your treasury to avoid a loan of 200d. doesn't seem logical to me.
But anyway, in order to avoid this mess next session: should I always keep 1000d. pocket money at hand?
Lag loans happen because your computer is "lagged" and states your treasury is bigger then it actually is. The difference varies. I remember having lag loans when my treasury dropped below 100d and when it dropped below 2000d.
The latter rarely happened, but i remember having 3 loans like that, late game as Spain, but i guess that was because my MI was tremendously high (it rounded about 1400d per month).
1000d sounds more then enough. 500d is already more then enough tbh. Just dont let it drop much more. If you get a lag loan and you notice it right after, then check your treasury, and deduct 200d (or whatever your loan size is). If you get below the result of that little calculation, you will get another lag loan.
But really, i cant remember the last time i suffered majorly from lag loans. You see, i am so paranoid that i need to leave a good amount of cash on treasury just in case some of my neighbours try to do something funny.
But btw. Since you use Hamachi, you will most likely suffer from these kind of bugs since it creates a massive desyncronization between host-player. Hamachi might be good, but unless everyone uses it, it will be a bit problematic.
