Some observations:
- Naval battles are too easy to retreat from and its possible to retreat "through" an enemy force. This has made it possible for the Italians to invade, evacuate and reinforce without problem into the middle east, making it impossible to stop this although superior at sea, inflicting NO losses. Meanwhile Axis air mercilessly bombs your naval units with no way of escaping. this would not have worked in 1.02 I believe since at least then naval battles will last a given period of time. Please don't compare an extraction from the French coast to this since UK has the means to win a naval battle there if she want's to and the Axis doesn't in this case.
I agree, a naval battle should always last for a specific time before retreat is possible, I have no idea what fixes 1.2 entails but if this is one of them I for one will be glad.

-Whats wrong with the air cover system? Unescorted long range bombers vs nearby interceptors? The overstacking (+60 ships)of Alexandria's port is not the issue since the carriers would have been sunk wether alone or stacked. They should have better chances to survive while blended into the mass of ships in the port. Other classes should have been hit as well. This does not feel realistic at all.
Thing is we were using no less than 7 escort fighters and 2 regular fighters along with our 10 bombers and 1 nav bomber. When italy tried to attack without escorts or fighter help his planes got shot down in one hour in game time (all of them). So I think the air cover system works.
I was also using 8 interceptors doing air superiority missions.
About carriers being targeted first: Carriers are by far the easiest and best target for planes to hit. If you look at naval battles (mostly in the Pacific theathre), when airplanes were used they almost always targeted carriers if possible.

- Italy sending it's entire fleet into the Indian ocean when UK controls the Western side of the channel!? Yeah right! It's a canal! You ought to have to control BOTH sides of the Canal to be able to pass through.
While I agree this may not be the best thing, I don't think this is going to be changed, it is much easier to live with it.

- the CW AI is doing ok. They don't mess too much with my orders and apart from some nuclear reserach and base/factory building acutally produce some useful units.
Glad you like the changes made.

Finally I'm sorry for pausing and playing slowly but we went mostly Below Normal yesterday and the UK is rather complicated to play with the entire Axis attacking them on every front. Maybe the 1941 scenario is a better bet after all?
As I said, it is not a problem for me, I know the UK is hell to play. I don't think the 1941 scenario is a good call, since I don't like it among other things, anyways for future reference we should at the very least have a french player from start who can later coop UK.
Fun session in all I thought, I can understand USA and USSR is starting to feel a bit bored, something is bound to happen soon.
