I would like to try Spain for once...but Peter in France means a very skilled player in Spain is required and in Austria as well...at least a Spain who can fund Austria frequently :)

Well, England, Russia or Ottomans for me then.

Anibal subbed me for 2 sessions because I couldn't play, yes. And he did a good job, without doubt. But the only province he got me IIRC was Holstein... while that is a good province and a nice effort, it hardly makes an empire... ;)
You are right. The only province I conquered was Holstein. And the fact that I lost two (IIRC) provinces to Russia on a war and fought another war against Brandemburg with half manteinance (I'll never forget this one! :D ) proves that Denmark didn't become an empire on my hands.

Now, as for nations... I didn't decide yet. Perhaps Poland, Persia or Portugal, the ones which start with P? I don't know. I'll choose later.

Yes, of the original crew only 7 players did stay the entire campaign...(assuming none of them quits before the final session coming sunday ;) )

That said and done, there were a lot of nice subs and new perms, like Hive, Nitram, Anibal, Matija, Fredrick etc. who proved to be jolly good fellows too :)

You kinda quit LGHIII in the end, didn't you? ;)

He made you a real empire: Anibal started the way to riches for Denmark. More respecto to your regent.

Yes, he most certainly did. But that has nothing to do with having an empire, does it? And I had only played 1 session before he subbed me, in which I too increased income rapidly... take a look at the old stats if anyone have doubts...

Now I'm not saying that Anibal didn't do a great job: he did. But it kinda annoys me if people say Anibal was responsible for everything good that happened to my country, and that I just jumped aboard...

I'd love to see you in OE and Lotus in Austria. Damn trade-whores... :p

I myself am mostly interested in Brandenburg btw, but giving England another shot could be fun as well...

anything is fine, as long as it's not Austria, Portugal or Holland, and preferably not Denmark.

You honestly think it would have been a better game if Russia and Brandenburg just annexed Denmark and Sweden? Or if they both survived as AI?

And I did better than 'decent', damn you! :p

I have contributed with tons of exciting intrigue to the game, and I am currently a wealthy pig only topped by Portugal. I currently have the highest trade income of all, in spite of me only having poor CoTs in Sjælland and in Greenland... ;)

EDIT: You annoying me just earned France another 4k...

Additionally, it is the mass colonising of England, Spain, Portugal, and Russia that I dislike, not the act of sending out a few colonists every now and then.

Bah, Peter big mistake. You should have claimed that you were looking forward to painting the map blue and making a huge colonial empire... that way you could make colonization "concessions" to the traditional colonizers in return for some sort of gain on your part... its basic MP strategy. Then again, I do supose that the defination of "a few colonists every now and then" is a bit subjective. :p

Right, since I've figured out an hour's worth of access here is equivalent to only $3.98 American, I'll take the time to surf the good old EU boards again... :p

1. I didn't quit the game to be in a 3-person with Slargos and Cyrus. It was a coincidence one weekend. In addition, I stuck out TNH (which Hive also quit) :p.

2. Hive should be forced to play Ragusa.

3. WE MUST PLAY 1520. I CANNOT OVEREMPHASIZE THIS ENOUGH.

4. I will play mostly anything but England, Holland, Venice or Austria. Even I, The Lotus, famed unto the heavens for my trading and colonizing, will accept a reasonable continental power. :D

5. Again, I think we should admit 16 or 18 with the expectation that several will quit along the way. Saves looking for subs as well.

6. No house rules for gameplay.

7. SLARHOST! SLARHOST! PRAISE BE UNTO HIS NAME! LET THE GLORIOUS LIGHT OF SLARHOST WILT THE WEEDS OF POOR HOSTING!

8. Rather than having Slargos pick the countries, we could have a lottery, where each person is randomly assigned a nation. Should be a bit of fun, if everyone isn't so stuck up about it. :D

9. I propose that those who quit the game should not be allowed to rejoin. It is absolutely unacceptable to fuck with the game by threatening to quit.

Right. Hasta luego.

EDIT: In addition, I think we saw in Reloaded the emergence of France as a viable colonial power. With the aid of Holland, it eventually swallowed up much of the North American continent, roughly corresponding those territories it historically occupied (Canada and the Mississippi River basin).

Lotus, care to explain your reasoning on points 3, 6, and 7?

and while you're at it, care to explain the discrepancy between points #4 and #8?

A lottery in combination with preferences (when you're drawn you get your first choice that is still free... if you haven't picked any more, you get to choose one of the still free countries BEFORE the next person is drawn)

OR alternatively a council of wise men (those who signed up for Slargos Party :D ) assigns countries based on skill level and preference (and nepotism, obviously)
