Heh. Nice propaganda, my dear Emperor.
A few points though: you question my motives in
buying land from the heathen Persia instead of taking it by force. I see. But ain't that the same heathen Persian you attacked the Ottomans to protect, not long ago?
Also, I fail to see how you can sell me rights to lands (which I already have rights on, btw) which you have no control over. And I doubt the Elector of Brandenburg is happy about that...
Oh, and I see that you stole my former sig for your argumentation.
His Most Serene and Pacific Majest <snipped the rest> is annoyed by the light-headed tone of the Danish diplomacy.
First of all, His Majesty does NOT like to be adressed to as 'you'. 'My Liege' or 'Majesty' would be sufficient.
Now, His Majesty thinks it's not worth it, but he will still destroy the futile attempts of 'you' to explain why a Dane should own an island far, far away.
House Habsburg never has attacked the Ottomans to protect some infidels at the other end of the world. The Turk occupied sacred lands of our dynasty. Hungary was covered in darkness and the Ottoman was brutally force converting christians there. Futhermore, the Turk endangered the whole of Christian Europe with their sheer force and might. It's an offensive given that 'you' can suggest that House Habsburg attacked the Turk because of some infidels far, far away.
Saying that Austria declared war on the Ottoman Empire because of heathens living in Persia is insane, offensive, and beyond doubt
false.
Even the vile doge of Venice would agree to that.
Even the Shah himself would be offended by this remark of the Danish king. The emperor chooses to believe that the reasonable mighty Shah, who, even as the heathen he is, is somewhat more honourable and perhaps not lost for all eternity to the eternal joy of the heaven, in contrary to the sultan and others.
In short, the Shah may, in contrary to others, possible be a wise man.
The emperor knows that the Shah would rather not think that it was someone else who saved his people from the Turk.
Perhaps the Shah will decide, in the light of this recent message of the Danish king, to keep the island and the nestorians, rather then sell it to someone who denies the capabilities of the Shah to defend his people against intruders.
The emperor also asks the Portuguese king to not lend money to not-so-capable and competent monarchs, for wicked purposes!
Now about the ruthless remark about the rights of Holstein and Jutland. Where the emperor, before this incident, was willing to hear about old claims of Denmark on Holstein and Jutland (for a nice sum), the Danish King can forget about it for now.*
Futhermore, my dear elector in Brandenburg agrees, as every other sane monarch, that the only real authority who decides which Holy Roman territory belongs to whom is the Emperor. It's the Emperor and only the Emperor who decides about the fate and ownership of Holy Roman Territory.
The recent attempts of the Danish king to divide old friends is noticed.
* Mark the 'for now'. Who knows what some ducats can do?
