Correct, as is historically accurate. All in all I held the best parts of Hungary for the majority of the game. Austria has problems because diplomatically, no one with the exception of Spain has much interest in keeping her solvent, in fact much the opposite. Strengthening AUstria will merely encourage gang bangs as people will see even more need to promote their own goals at her expense.

with the no pacific colonization rules it gets ok. There will be enough lands for the others to get.

- more galleys
- more trade
- a refinery on Crete
- a CC in Veneto
Edits for Denmark:
- Shipyard in Copenhagen.
- Slightly increased manpower in copenhagen.
- A couple of galleys. Say 20?
- A naval manufactory in copenhagen.
Other edits:
- Portugal should be weakened by having some of their iberian colonies changed to "native" population/religion
- Portugal shouldn't have a core on Al Kharam, that's plain silly
- England should start with a slightly smaller navy
Changes that WONT happen (or someone needs to argue better for them):
- Spain should be less uber from the start
- Bourbonnais should still be independent, for historical accuracy. Not a major point though.
- more galleys
- more trade
- a refinery on Crete
- a CC in Veneto

A) The Ottomans are not Poland's Natural Enemies. Poland has very little that the Ottomans want, (especially if most of the Hungarian CBs are untaken) and if Poland can play Austria, Ottos and Russia off of each other...He'll survive alot more easier.
B) The Russian system was just...feh, what it was. If its any consolation, IRL, they didn't get into any major wars till POST 1789. Up until then, they had almost exactly the same borders for 200 years with a couple exceptions such as Smolensk. It came down to the fact that up until Peter started getting bored with 2 million manpower and Surovov sitting around doing nothing, both were unwilling to throw our countries into turmoil via a mutually destructive war. It helped that I had an understanding with the Ottomans as well against the Russian Bear.
C) I had to fight my way into Germany inch by excruciating inch. I took it from Austria, from Denmark and Sweden, while having to deal with Russian threats, the Merchant Alliance, and a big gangbang by Austria, France and Spain. Which was, up until then, the single biggest defeat any one nation had suffered. Yet I bounced back. TWICE, I lost territory in Germany before regaining it from other players. From both the MF and the French/Austrians.
D) Lack of a Sweden helped. Since the first player lost a couple provinces and then in a hissy fit threw away all of his generals on a deliberately suicidal gamble and quit playing it, leaving it to the mercy of Russia.

Besides. Considering Spain and France, who were by far and away the most powerful countries of the last 150 years cuddled up together (30 years before the Bourbon event even) and saw Spain abandon Austria...Had ALOT more to do with a weak Austria then Poland. lol.

Frankly, and I only say this because I just read two pages of bitching about how much of a rotten, powergaming Poland I am...Abandoning Sweden first, and then Austria, did FAR more to unbalance the neighbourhood then anything Poland ever did. By leaving Sweden defenseless to Russia (which resulted in it being ANNEXED) and leaving Austria either defenseless to Poland (despite Russia interceding on it's behalf TWICE) or to become a vassal of France, insured Polish success in the region more then anything else.
