Flatus couldn't avoid his first bankruptcy, since he came into the game with 4 loans. However, over a period of 10 years, he subsequently bankrupted a second time. Thus, in 26 years, all told, Sweden's inflation rose from 8% to 44%.

According to those who were actually concerned over the fighting in the North (which I wasn't) it is generally agreed upon that Flatus behaved extremely unwisely. He is a gentle lad of quiet character and persuasion, but apparently, he made some appaling decisions, I.E, deciding to bankrupt again instead of agreeing to a very reasonable Russian offer.

It is also worth nothing that Flatus was terribly gangbanged in a way that he could not cope with, which HG would have been able to deal with in his place, either diplomatically or militarily. Flatus was just a sub, but was basically just the pinata of the North. Would've been better to leave a force field around Sweden and have a player in Persia.

That terrible gangbang was just Russia and (the then to 4 provinces) reduced Denmark versus Sweden.

Sweden is destroyed by a player. No edits ought to be done imo.
If Flatus could not prevent the first bankrupty, then HG is also as guilty as sin ;)

I'm not too much into the Swedish situation but since Sweden already had 4 loans and was fighting a war and everyone is saying he couldn't possibly avoid the first bancrupcy, I think Sweden should get the inflation from the first bancrupy but not the second one.
It's not like it makes Sweden unplayable, just look at French or even Spanish inflation.

Yeah, bad management of economy must be punished, unfortunetally. So I agree with Ganja.

Why shouldn't sweden get the inflation of the second bankrupty?
Or don't subs count?

What happened to England?

we only played on a little while. some colonizing here and there some merchants send to there and here and england had an excellent minister so 4 inquisitors are at work at above 60% change. reached trade 6 working on 7 promoted several bailiffs which must have been overlooked in na.

nothing terrible. the dutch called us names though :p

as to the northern situation.
gangbanged sweden, har har again. at the start of the session iirc i denmark had all his provs occupied by poland, brandenburg and sweden. sweden kept asking for skane which i refused for i knew the russian hordes where coming.

russia had a hard time for sweden refusing peace even after finnland was all ocupied and i regained ground as well. sweden was on the loosing streak mostly due to its bankrupcy-related low morale though i guess.
tuning down the inflation seems ok to make it playable. but to 10% ???
should be at least as high as the nation´s with the second highest inflation. [hi saruman :p] for the 4 loans were there and i dont know what interest they had but at a rr of 4-5 already then and a war versus russia bancrupcy was not to be avoided imo.

What I would like to hear are the observations of the players who waged war with the new patch.

Is morale tweaked correctly now?

well battles arent over in an instant anymore. morale has a big impact still though, as does tech seem to have. for when attacking with supirior numbers and morale and cav my danish troops got still beaten at the plains of skane once in a while.

Okay, I am getting confused here. :)

  1. Somebody said that Sweden destroyed Denmark
  2. Somebody said that Denmark should be dropped as a player nation
  3. Somebody said that Sweden suffered (at least) one bankruptcy, leading to high inflation (I presume VERY high, though no actual numbers are mentioned)
  4. Somebody said that Sweden fought Russia for years on end (10 years even being mentioned) rather than cutting its losses by making peace earlier
  5. Somebody said that Sweden should lose some of its inflation to make it playable

1&2) Denmark player moved to England so we would need new player to the 4 province Denmark.

3) Like Damo said Sweden has inflation of 44%

4) Russia dow:d Sweden after month had been played like it had said it would do after Sweden refused Russian ultimatum(Ostlanded&Bergenhus to Denmark, Kola&Karelia to Russia in exchange of Finland and Tavastland and long NAP or Russia would try vasallization and convert if possible) so Russia did extensive diplomacy to have good change of vasalize Sweden like Russia had declared would be its goal. Russia moved slowly but steadily to conquer Sweden though swedish leaders and troops that were bought with minted and loan money made it realy slow conquer only after 10 years Russia started to have score needed for vasallization. But then Poland intervented and WP was result. Never knew vasallization would be viewed as so big thread to country :(.

So the whole war could have been avoided before it even started but Sweden wanted it to be solved with war as Sweden told it was not afraid of Russia and that Russia could do nothing to it not forgetting Sweden declared annexation of Russia to be its goal and that it had attacked constantly against Denmark and Russia well Russia just couldnt take that.

5) Russia is ok if nothing is edited or if editing is done Russia wil get compensation too.

Besides that, why did wyvern not show up for subbing?
I unfortunately could not make it in the end and let Peter and Slargos know around mid day yesterday.

Hope you all had a good session and it didn't cause too many problems.

Not at all, besides that my plan to besiege Constantinople was put on a hold ;)

Thanks for informing though
