argh portugal no no, but I agree setup should be changed I just don't know what would be the best.

Somewhere along the line, we started worrying about the OE more than Austria... With a human Hungary, you ought to be fine provided Venice and Poland fight the Turk rather than, as is more profitable game-wise, go for North Germany and Italy respectively, leaving you to your fate.
Switching you and Damo is an idea, but we'd need Duke or someone to play BB.

But let's see, the shuffling began because some of the newer players were surrounded by veterans. Let's see if the situation is better for Austria.
Original setup:
Austria: FAL
BB: Damo
Poland: HG
France: Ganja
Venice: Slargos
Ottoman Empire: Melchior
Everyone agreed this Austria was bound to be destroyed. So we began shuffling. And now we end up with this:
Austria: FAL
BB: Robertus
Poland: HG
France: Ganja
Venice: Slargos
Ottoman Empire: Damocles
Is there anyone who thinks Austria is better off now?
The question was never so much about Austria, as it was about the Ottoman Empire being able to handle Duke Russia, Peter Persia and still be expected to wage war on Austria, HG Poland , Slargos Venice and the odd 50k Spanish reinforcements.

Nobody wants a peaceful, friendly OE. But do you really want to be surrounded by Damocles Austria, HG Poland, Slargos Venice, Peter Persia and Duke Russia?
As a solution, one could dump Persia and use the Mughal Empire instead. Then the Ottomans would have time.... Time to prepare for the Mughal onslaught, that is, and time to carve out as big a buffer zone as possible before the Mughal hordes strike. :rofl:Damocles said:

What I find amusing in all your "calculations" is that you take it for granted that some nations will definately go to war to help anoher nation.
Let's say that OE dows Austria. Then you are all sure that Persia, Russia and Poland will dow OE. But what if Russia and Poland is at war? Or what if one of them have a civil war, and can't help?

It has HG as Poland. Slargos as Venice and a player Hungary. All reliable allies against the Ottoman threat. Plus, Ganja is France and Brandenburg is Melchior. If Austria dosen't make it under such great circumstances...I don't think he ever can. This is even assuming Spain dosen't fund him.
Now...
If Venice, Poland, Spain and Hungary decide to screw over Austria en masse, then that would be dearly unfortunate for Fal. Though, I can't see more then 1 or 2 going their own way. Plus, he gets to remain latin tech.
