Of course. If FAL were Austria and HG, OE.. it could work out anyway, what with HG having to worry about Russia and Persia aswell.

Think about it. With the above set-up, you won't get a balanced game. You will get an annexed Denmark & BB
Something else: why base games entirely upon reputations? If you're doing that, you'll get a self-fulfilling prophecy. Geeh, HG is a good player, let's put him in OE instead of Poland. Gee, Damo is a good player, let's move him from BB to Austria :rofl:

Your fears are largely unfounded because Slargos already reversed the roster, right when I was happy with Austria. (Which I did ask for first :/).
But the reshuffling wasn't to make FAL and Melchior safe, so much as to prevent a black hole of arseraping in Austria and Ottoman Empire that would destablize the game.
Wanna switch reputations? Then I'll be able to play juicy countries like Spain and France, which I haven't played in a regular game SINCE TSUNAMI I, and you can get stuffed in Poland and Brandenburg. :wacko:

Russia gets Mongol in 1650. Ruthenian in 1733. Trade dropped to two. Land dropped to six.

The reason why the newest players aren't put in majors is because it ussually ends up in a raping and a greatly unbalanced game, unless all majors are new players. If you end up with some half-assed crap like MachII where it starts out with all new players in majors then ends up with all the most powerful majors played by veterans, it gets ugly real quick.
Frankly, I don't think any 'new' player wants to be put in a country surrounded by HG, Archduke and Peter and be expected to wage war on them!
And you are hardly a new player :/

And that is why I hoped for Duke in austria
and not damo that wants to annex all of europe
