*Announcement from the Ottoman Ministry of Foreign Affairs*

The Sultan has decided to reshuffle His government. The decision implies that a new Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been elected.

The Sultan has ordered his new Ministry of Foreign Affairs to go through the archives of bilateral agreements with the governments of Austria, Russia, France, Denmark, Netherlands and Portugal, and issue a report by tomorrow morning.

Sadly, some of the documents are reported missing.

If any of the above governments claim an agreement, please issue a copy to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, preferably by ICQ: 190-638-897.

*End of announcement*

The Shah Greets The New Sultan

- offers help and spiritual advice -

The Shah announces that he is happy to see a new infidel, whose stomach will undoubtedly be roasted by Allah, attain the throne of Constantinople. He pronounces the deep desire that the sultan may suffer in life, such that his abominable treatment after death will not come as such a great letdown.

The Shah urges the Sultan that it is better to be prepared for the righteous wrath of Allah, the benevolent, the great! which is visited on all the flawed Sunni heretics without fail, and offers to aid with inflicting punishment on the Sultan in life for his soul's sake. :)

[Yes, the Shah is a very helpful man - that is just the sort of man he is]

Alternatively, the Sultan should abandon his atrocious beliefs and convert to the true Shiite faith under the glorious religious leadership of the Shah. Truly, this would be the penultimate step in the establishment of the Caliphate throughout the world.

The treaty of Vienna

After years of bitter enminity, Austria and the Ottoman Empire have put aside their differences, and have agreed on an end to the bitter enminity of both nations.
Let the world know that they have agreed on the following matters.

Firstly,
As a sign of good will, The Ottoman Empire will turn authority over of the territories of Banat and Maros, to Austria.

Secondly,
The Ottoman Empire agrees that those sacred Hungarian lands belong to Austria, for all eternity

Thirdly,
Austria will accept the religious freedom of the inhabitants of Banat and Maros and will not try to convert them to the Catholic Faith

Fourthly,
The Ottoman Empire agrees with the claims of Austria on Ruthenia, the mountainious region currently under control of the nation of Siebenburgen, that is vital to Austrian defence

Fifthly,
Austria agrees with the Ottoman claims on the regions of Croatia and Serbia, for all eternity

Sixthly,
Austria agrees with the Ottoman claims on the region of Transylvania. Currently under control of the nation of Siebenburgen

Seventhly,
both Austia and the Ottoman Empire grant each other mutual Military Access

Eighthly,
both Austia and the Ottoman Empire pledge to put all former enminity aside. Let Frienship Rule between the great empires!

Ninthly,
seeing the results of enmity, Austria and the Ottoman Empire both pledge that in the event that an issue rises, everything will be done to preserve the peace between the two nations

Now, THIS is uncredible... really! :) But with the current desperate sutiation of the Ottoman Empire, it's very understandable.

Not sure about OE, but this is the first great diplomatic move of Austria. With the southern flank secured, and with good relations with Brandenburg; I think we will see some conflicts in the Rhin :D

Ah, the persian Shah has something to answer this new austria-ottoman co-operation. Or was he informed of it before the public?

Now,

I have a GM question of which I am unsure what to do.
Austria has a pact with the OE and transfers Maros and Banat to Austria, which can be done with edits.

The trouble is Ruthenia, owned by the Ottoman vassal of Siebenburgen. Is it common sense to edit that too or do I have to dow Siebenburgen with Austria in the game?

Not that's it too big of a problem to dow a 2 province minor on which I have a CB, but I would like to know what the general principle towards editing AI vassals is. I think they should be left alone, or not?
