I would prefer to sub for Denmark, since I've already subbed for Hive and I know the country. Yes, playing the OE would be great and a nice challenge because if its current situation, but I know the danish situation better. :)

And the thing I told about being a permanent controlling Denmark was more a joke than anything else. :D

Well, it's up to you. Denmark needs a sub, but the OE needs a perm :)

Ok, it looks like Nitram wants to be the perm OE player. SOMEHOW both Nitram and Anibal were very reluctant to take them. Perhaps it had to do something with me being their neighbour, but I suspect deeper reasoning :D

Oh well, Nitram, can you confirm you're the new perm?

I doubt it. I couldn't have had a more peceful and gentile neighbour in this game :D

Can the new Sultan then confirm the deals made with the previous ruler :) . In other words, that the countries that helped the OE in their current problems will not have to pay for trading in their COTs?

Welcome! :)

May a new era of peace and prosperity start for the Ottoman Empire... And no more two civil wars in a row!

Well, it is only a 0.15 bonus, but every bit helps in a tight spot. It is not enough that I would advise SDoTF to those who have problems keeping up in tech, but just enough that I would advise it for the strong who need that extra edge. :)

This is not true unless the release notes of 1.07 are not correct
1.07 release notes said:
- Defenders of the faith accumulate war exhaustion at 80% of normal speed when at war now.
- Defender of the Faith now gets a +10% morale bonus, but also a +15% costs on technologies.

It says it is 10% of your morale (10% of what? base morale, morale after other modifications?) If it is 10% of the base morale it is likely more than a 0.15 bonus

Could be changed in a beta though.

I know what it says. Feel free to test and prove me wrong - I only have that 0.15 from memory (but in that test, I definitely did not have 1.5 base morale - more like 4.0). However, until somebody tests it, I will trust my memory. :)

You know Peter, there was I time you did tests yourself :D

In any way, let's see who can click the fastest on the DotF button when next session starts

BTW, I tried to be a good pupil and became immediately the proud Fidei Defensor of the Catholic Religion in Little Game of Horrors III, only to have the Ottoman Empire declare war on me...which I lost. 1000 Ducats wasted :)

I still do, but I do not have time for a test the next day or two, so if somebody wants to know for sure, he will have to test for himself. :)

Well, an essential part is not to consistently lose wars. If the loss of a mere 1,000d is enough to make your monarch cry, then you should not be holding such a lofty title as Sole Defender of the Faith in the first place.

Well, I wasn't a good Sole Defender of the Faith in that game, because the Turk occupied Rome and annexed the papacy shortly after that war ;)

BTW, I still would like to know if the history book is correct with it's army numbers, because I base a lot of strategy on that...

I never trust very much the history book (specially if their data are updated consistently). Although I think it has improved from previous patches.

One problem about the history book, even IF the numbers showed right, would be that you have no idea where the troops are stationed. That might not be such a big problem regarding landlocked nations like Austria but if you for example tried to figure out how many troops France or Spain had, you wouldn't know how many of those were actually stationed in continental Europe and ready to participate in a war. Specially Spain could easily have half their 300k in the new world. Therefor I hesitate to rely on the history book.
