I don’t know what I would have done as Spain. Let’s say I honored the alliance. Could Russia have protected me from the combined might of the allies?

I suppose dishonoring the alliance but guaranteeing to not participate in the war (neutrality) would have angered everyone.

Sacrifice to who though? Spain? Because that is what it probably will turn out to be. All Spain is doing is helping Austria and Prussia instead of Russia. I see no gains by helping Austria and Prussia.

As I said, I seriously doubt Spain will play a considerable role in the war. It is just too long of a distance for Spain to be a big impact and a threat for Russia.

A) If Russia is not beaten the game is over. Perhaps Spain wants to play more than half a game?

B) Pattern: Russia betrays with ally France. Russia betrays their ally Prussia. Spain is Russia's ally, I wonder who gets betrayed next.

I will repeat this yet again:

I told Prussia in 1858 that I was not going to support them in a Unification war in 1866 or in 1871. In other words, i have them eight years notice not to try to unify Germany. That, sir, is hardly backstabbing. The fact that Prussia decided to go against my recommendation doe snot surprise me, but while it was certainly a falling out between allies, and perhaps even overly-aggressive on my part, it woud be a lie to call it backstabbing.

Call it what you will, no one likes how it tastes.

If one nation is such a superpower that an alliance of almost every other nation is still not sure they can beat him you know sometime is wrong with the game.

Ah, and USA population is rather small. Must be the thing that many countries are human played, and thus emmigration to USA was smaller than in SP games. Thats sad.

The Ottoman/Russian Caucasus front had three level three forts on mountains with russian troops well enternched, so we just landed in crimea and went up the western black sea coast.

Reason the Ottoman occupies so much land is that it was ottoman land bordering all the land we conquered, so it wasn't nessecarily OE troops doing it.

BTW, brave yankee troops managed to save something like 100,000 Spainish troops which were cut off and encircled (they only had their beach head), and it was USN transports which shipped the Spainish troops to the front. We may have a small population, but the USA is a useful ally to have

Well, you're in the game, not I; far be it from me to second-guess the world's heads-of-state from my breakfast table.

As well as looking at the population and division numbers (and those you see are the numbers AFTER he released a bunch of satellites and lost most of his army in the war) you have to consider both how Memnon was hyping himself up and how Russia had been dictating the pace of the game up untill this point. I honestly though Russia would be a much tougher nut to crack.

yeah, the war was unfaire no metter how you look at it, and now you want 2 take away 20+ territories, will that make, so called balance of power?

Do you base this on anything? Up untill the war broke our Russia was considered THE superpower of the game and most of the land we want him to give up is land he earlier took from us.

The United States recieves the island chain of Polynesia in its entirely, plus the islands of San Cristobal, the New Hebrides, Santa isabel, and New Caledonia in Melanesia. I am unable at present to completely cede the islands of New Guinea and Borneo. Hopefully this offer compensates for that.

While these United States are eager to bring this war to an end, we are not happy to have these mainly worthless clumps of land substituted for the Iron, sulphur and timber rich provinces of Borneo, especially when you were able to cede them during our earlier peace talks.

Our counter-offer is the land you offer above, Kimchaek and the sum of £100,000 payable over 3 years.

And while the above is open to negotiations, we insist on China being fully resorted to her 1836 borders. The USA and her allies will not on that point.
