Is there any chance that if you have maintenance lower than maximum that when you're declaring a war, it gives you a notification before you can start the war, warning you that your units aren't at maximum maintenance? I, myself, and several people I play with have run into the issue where we have our maintenance all the way down and forget to put it back up before declaring war.

Well for me the yellow bar solves the issue.

Absolute release date is less important than working out bugs and balance issues they're aware of. They already made clear they're shooting for end of month in the last dev diary.

+1. We're still reeling from 1.4 bug introductions with multiple relatively serious issues that haven't been fixed yet. I'd rather them take their time.

OK this has got to be the best set of diaries yet. Wow this DLC/patch is shaping up to be a major all around improvement. Kinda blows me away all the great changes that are going to come this time. Can't wait to play this.
Dark Souls 2 has completely ensnared me away from EU4 but this looks like it just might snap me back.
Kudos PDS.

Good stuff! I'd like ships not to harbor for repair when they're not more than 10% damaged. Having your fleet of 100 light ships harbored to repair one percent of one ship is annoying, especially when you've completed naval ideas meaning it would have repaired regardless. It seems more realistic too. I doubt ships on patrol were in perfect order when on assignment.

I would strongly recommend adding hotkeys for unit build queue so that for example if you use CTRL key while clicking on a unit type in Build Unit interface, you would be building 5 units instead of 1 unit each time while Shift key gives you 10. Clicking unit to build 1 unit each repeatedly in short time can get.... tedious.

To be honest, they'd probably get more bug fixes done by releasing the game - which has I imagine 100,000's of people using it - then the dozens of testers they probably have. You'd get a lot more bug feedback in a far shorter amount of time... and sometimes you need crazy black magic users to try doing insane things to discover bugs.

I wish that the Protestant faith (Special Mechanics etc) and the Papacy Gov and System have more focus with this or the next DLC. Also, doubts about Sikh having Mechanics and further focus on Steppe and Asia... This game is becaming AWESOME. But there is some much to add, that can be added :eek:o

Call Allies
And for the final improvement something that came in just recently, and thats the ability to selectively call allies into war. So if you know one of your 4 allies will refuse, just leave that box unticked.

Please please please please please let us be able to not call vassals to arms, even in defensive wars. The AI is not smart enough to avoid suicide runs, and we have to force them to attach to our armies, and march them all the way to Siberia to avoid unneeded casualties. Also, I don't want to CTA an ally or vassal that has rebel problems.

I'm begging you, and the rest of the forum is begging you.
Thanks.

Seeing in one of the screenshots that the game will actually tell you now why your allies won't join a war got me more excited than all of the words used in the Dev Diary post.

Thanks.

You can't just leave vassals out of wars. They are fair game for your enemies. At best you could have a setting to make a vassal 'passive' - that is, they leave their army at home and do not attempt to do anything in the war.

Of course, you still need to defend the vassal, but that's part of having vassals, which at the moment is super-cheesy anyway (they never defy you).
