I regret to say that but I did not buy the Mare Nostrum DLCs and I won't buy this new batch of DLCs. I bought many, many DLCs for EU4 (and CKII, as a matter of fact). Some DLCs I thought were good or very good, some of them were "meh", as for the others I simply regret buying them. Speaking of major ones (expansions), I only regret buying "The Cossacks", but I now feel that even if I highly appreciate Paradox Interactive's work most of the time, the DLC policy is something to complain about. Many, many DLCs, high prices, and sometimes little content. You pay for an incredible game at a reasonable price, and, of course, you get interested in the DLCs. Then you buy DLCs, and you realize that, compared to the price of the base game, their price is sometimes unreasonably high if you think about the content they offer. Not to mention the fact that they break the EU4 content into dozens of (sometimes very little) pieces, like the "national monuments" DLC or the "look, nice costumes for the Indian guys" DLC.
The base game was so much FUN that sometimes I wonder, "why did I have to buy so many DLCs ?". I guess I did it because I loved (and still love) the game, and I wanted to support Paradox's work. Now I'm just perplexed.
And I know you are going to talk about the patches. Well, thanks for the patches, even if, as a matter of fact, some patches clearly changed the game experience without the players being asked if they would like that. But you have to wonder, with so many patches and DLCs... even if it's great that the game is alive and updated...is all of this coherent ?
P.S : sorry for my bad English, and sorry if I have a bitter tone.
