At start i need to say sorry for my english skills. :/
I bought this game over 2 months ago ago. As 1st nation i decided to play with Muscovy. I`ve never changed settings so it was all custom when the problem appeared. At about 1760th year, the game started crushing at autosaves. It started to close game at each of it. I was forced to start the other save. At the beggining it was all ok but after some years, the same problem appeared. I decided to torn off autosaves and saving games by myself. But there was no way... Same problem. Each time Im trying to save game, the same crush appeared. Its really annoying cuz i really like this game and i`ve got a headache each time it happens.

Kinda same thing happened to me. I would recommend doing a full re-install. If that doesn't work try to untick "compress savefiles" or something like that (but prepare for the saves to take up more space).

It started crashing in a random time. I guess after some years. At the other saves i played only Poland and Austria. Craches appeared after some time but sometimes autosaves was succesfull. Its kinda randomly too. I didn`t notice it in game with Austria but im only in about 1470 year.

Do you have a restore point on your computer before it started crashing? If so, revert to that.

1578y autosave crash. Game exiting to windows and pop out message: Misrosoft Visual C++ Runtime library error. Needed to close it by task manager cuz computer lagged.
Alright, do a CLEAN reinstall. That is:
  1. Normally uninstall the game through Steam
  2. Go to steamapps/common and delete the 'Europa Universalis 4' folder
  3. Go to Documents/Paradox Interactive and delete the folder 'Europa Universalis 4'
  4. Now install the game
  5. Verify the integrity of Steam cache through EU4 > Properties
  6. Launch the game with no mods and test.
  7. ???
  8. Profit!

I could do it for the 3rd time but i dont think it will help :/
Try doing the previous exactly. If that doesint work, Please try installing:

First: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5555

After that: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=8328

Then: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
(If that doesn't do anything then http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 )

Then: visit the Windows Update site and allow it to apply all .NET updates/patches it wants to, for all .NET versions.
