Thanks. And they should pay you.

So I thought the solution might be to upgrade to the fglrx version in Debian unstable. Now I get an instant segmentation fault when trying to start the game, LOL.OK, this is really weird. Graphics are working fine in the old world, but really laggy and jerky in the (non-random) new world.
However, it's also happening with 1.4.1.0, so must be due to my graphics driver update.

Uh, why? The likelihood of those three nations sharing borders is almost nonexistent. There's a limited color palette and it seems totally sensible to have similar colors be shared by nations which are geographically nowhere near each other and historically accomplished almost nothing in terms of expansion. If anything they should focus on giving nations like Choctaw LESS distinct colors. Is there any hope for making country colors of Oman, Uzbek and Aceh more distinguishable? Hint: western Java is mine (Oman).

Unless, of course, Aceh has been eaten by Malacca, Patani, Ayuthata, Pegu or Brunei, or formed Malaya, by the time the player gets there.Oman is excellently set up for a spice trade player, borders with Aceh never happen with the AI but are very likely with a player.
Well, I've upgraded from 1.4.1.6 to 1.4.1.9. I now have an incredibly annoying background noise, sounds like static. It starts as soon as the loading screen is done and I'm on the main menu, and continues from thereon. Both with and without music. I'm using Linux, which is probably relevant.
WTF... the game is using 100% CPU when paused. I knew I should have backed up 1.4.1.6 but I was too lazy...
Try reading it again, slowly, it confused me the first few times too (the message you get when a nation gets independence) I haven't played 1.4.2.9 yet so I have no idea if it really is how you say it is, ill check it out asap (that is now, ill brb)Has anyone else been getting mixed up messages? Latest patch, playing Ottomans, I got a message saying that "Mamluks were enjoying freedom for the first time bla bla...", while it was the other way around: Byzantine rebels broke off on the Island sitting across modern-day Syria.
edited to add: Before they broke off, I (Ottomans) got a warning that rebels were close to getting their demands met. Turns out it was those same Byzantine rebels in my rival's nation.
Mixed up messages, new or has happened before?
Don't forget a bug with releasing nations on peace treaties - it is still in 1.4.1.9 as far as I have seen. The most serious/game-changing issue (that I know of) still existing in 1.4.1.9:
