The map in screenshot is much more accurate to real life, and so is the size of Scandinavia and its relation to Europe (which seems proportional) i just compared it to google map.
Not really, this is some kind of Mercator projection, making Scandinavia larger. It's especially obvious if you compare with Iberia: in reality it is some 20% smaller than Sweden+Norway.

It's good to see my beloved Livonian Order as well... Now, if only Riga wasn't in the way... XD

I do wonder what Norway's special stuff will be since they were not independent for that long. Extra explorers and ahistorical colonialism? Something pushing Norway into Greenland and over to Canada? Missions pushing for the creation of Vinlad:D?

Fish, klippfisk, fishing boat, fishing fleet, fishing banks, lutefisk and cross-country skiing?

Finally we manage to see the map, and it is a nice sight indeed! :)

I look forward to see how nasty and colorful rebels will be on the next diary!

those manpower boosts (33% MP recovery and 10% MP) for Sweden really does not feel correct. The game is going to be a blob fest anyway, so my impression is that an average player will control half of Europe in the mid-game.

I understand that those ideas should compensate Swedens lack of manpower but in the mid-term this will no longer make any sense. I think the ideas should enhance the nature of the country not compensate its weaknesses. 33% MP recovery could be very strong in multiplayer when you expect human players dominating the map in 100 years. So Sweden could have more available manpower than lets say France if France does not get similar MP boosts. But we do not know what all other country-specific ideas are, maybe they will be equally strong - like 25% tax for France (taille idea) etc.

Overall I prefer less powerful country-specific ideas because it could lead to severe balance issues when the globe is dominated by 5 players.

It's impossible to actually balance EU for multiplayer, without house rules players are always going to exploit weaknesses in the game and the AI. That's aside from the problems of trying to balance a German OPM or Native American nation against France or Russia.

" Tills han vitögat ser karolinen marscherar fram…", I don't speak French so well but this should translate into something like "Until the white of the eyes he sees, the Carolean marches forward" in English.
Se döden i vitögat means to come close to death or to have a near-death experience. So in French something like:
« Avant qu'il ne frôle la mort, un soldat de Charles XII surgissait... »

That expression has nothing to do with the text, if you see somebody's "vitöga" it simply means that you are close enough to see the white of his eyes.

Norway wasn't independent at all from 1444 to the late 18th century. They enjoyed more autonomy in the personal union before 1536, but that's pretty much it. I'm sure Paradox will think of something, however. Something to do with

Perhaps. An ahistorical revival of the Grænlendingar culture would be interesting, at the least.

Monarch points are a good idea. I like it.
