Only Americas get Colonial regions, and only when the DLC is loaded (it's a DLC feature, not a Patch 1.4 feature.)

Colonies in Africa, Asia, Oceania will be as-per 1.3. No formal confirmation on tariffs, but my expectation is that they will also be as-per 1.3.

Devs have stated that "All the Colonial features of CoP apply to the Americas only."

I wonder if Colonial Regions could be modded in to places like India, so that East India Companies sort of have their autonomy next to princely states and the like. Indonesia could be similar, and Australia and New Zealand could have their own regions to make them sort of their own thing as well.

Asia seems like it will have protectorates, and that area will almost certainly get a DLC at some point.

So, is it just me, or is this going to make the Americas a hugely less enticing target for colonization vs vanilla? Especially if colonial regions don't count toward increasing your force limit. Why would you go there when literally anything else is open?

ill say it again: why cant we lower tax as well? this way you can end up with states that keep revolting with nothing you can do because you cant lower taxes.

I think you should be able to lower taxes at a great penalty.

But if it's 50 diplo to raise, once you go above the limit and get revolts, then it shouldn't be as simple as another 50 diplo to lower. There's a lot of room for creativity. A loss of legitimacy for kingdoms, perhaps? After all, you'd look like a weak ruler if you back down that easily. You'd also have to rework your tax administration, so admin points are on the line.

I just don't want a gamey thing of stay above 50% until independence movements, then move to 45%, then repeat. But the option for lowering should be there, as long as it costs MORE than raising.
