NA 1.05 available for download. Also available is "A quick fix for the broke Scenario editor in NA 1.05 Update. Will be removed when proper update is delivered."

So this means even the NA version is not complete? If you download that fix, will you have the exact same product youll end up with when "the proper update is delivered"?

Maybe Im reading it wrong, but can anyone fill me in? I know Im in the minority here, but Id rather wait for the "proper" version than limp off with a crutch just so I can have it now. Again, no complaining involved, just curiosity.

The "proper" NA update will be the patcher with the missing files included (read: my extra zip file). No need to get the proper update later on.

So... I have to ask: is the bug with decentralization/centralization fixed in the official 1.05, or will we have to wait for 1.06? This bug caused the effects of each to be reversed.

If the bug is still there, can someone answer these questions about it?

1) Does it affect events that cause de/centralization, or does it only affect changes made manually through the slider?

2) Does it affect the AI as well as the player?

Maybe it's not a game-stopper, but this bug will have a large effect on history in Europe, will it not?

Thanks for any info.

It's still there. I changed my centralization slider from 1 to 2, and the production percentage went from 21% to 19%. I couldn't check if the actual production values really changed, as it was too small (0.2 ducats per month) to notice any difference.

Essentially yes to all questions, except Question #1B.

The bug affects AI, and the human via manual and event-driven changes in cent/decent.

Impatiently,

it takes 53 min. apparently on a 56k modem :(

I don't know why SF didn't split the files.

Look at your box (or your CD case). Find out which publisher is mentioned on it. If it is StrategyFirst, you have the N Am version. If it is UbiSoft, you have the UK / Western Europe version.
