Question on CoN.

Will the EU2 v1.07 that comes with CoN be able to be playable multiplayer with a non-CoN version of Eu2?

Thinking of teaching the wife Eu2, and if I had another copy of the CD, my life would be so much easier.

It should work perfectly fine with any other game of the same version.

Perhaps CoN will install unmodified EU2 1.07 in the EU2 directory, and install the CoN expansion in a subdirectory with a separate shortcut, kind of like AGC and EEP do? That would be ideal, assuming that Paradox are gonna put extra/better events in...

Ill buy it just out of loyalty to paradox, in fact I might have just buy a second copy of eu2 for the hell of it anyway, since I really would have paid 100$ for it if I had to and they deserve more of my entertainment dollar than those hacks at QS

Pssst, Becephalus, don't bitch on them. They have some very good guys, but it IS a difference if you are enculturated and teached in a country with as long a history as Sweden, or in a rebellious colony.

Adding the EU name was a decision of Strategy First, as they thought the Svea Rike III name was not good enough for the US market.

I'm excited.

I'd checked out the Swedish screenshots a while back, and it makes me happy that I can read it and understand it now.

not quite sure what I think of it, mostly because I haven't played it.

in this thread Mellon stated that SRIII was a testfield for EU? Is this true? It doesn't seem to me that my understanding the timeline lines up to support this.

Prolly the best thing about this game is that it will help to carry over some good aspects of the that game with a possible EU3.
Looks like your army can also be diversified somewhat Of course im going to buy it

CoN (svea rike 3) does not suck.. but it is a bit to simple for my tastes.. both on difficult level and on the micro management level.. but should you not own EU2 allready.. buy CoN.. we need to support johan and co because frankly they doing what all other game companys are not.. they actually care about what their costumers think in the long run, and doesnt try to push a new title right after the old one has sold a few copes and then stop supporting it..

Been playing EU since it came out.. years ago.. what other games can I claim I still play even tho they are a year or 2 old ??

none.. (well.. ok.. CIV, uuum.. and a few others that are great.. but to many ppl today think about graphics instead of playability.. )

oh geez.. now this became a lil rant on my views on the gaming idustry at large and their target audience.. Ill just shut up from here on..
