Now that EU2 has been released, I suppose it is time to dive deep into EU3 for the Paradox team. I suggest expanding the timeline to include World War 2. :)

However I'd love to see a game that takes the core of EU and expands it to be the full length like Civ series (I hate Civ series, it has no history/realism in it!). Keep the kickass EU map and playing style, but have the game play from 1 AD to 2000 AD! Throw in the historical accuracy of events, so even if you happen to rule all of Europe as Rome, by 1419 you'll be in trouble with a lot of national revolts!
Ah well, a man can dream right?

I wouldn't like a version from 1 too 2000... Maybe expand the time period a bit once again (or let it stay the same)and just add new elements.

I would like to see one based entirely in the English House of Commons... your party trying to conquer more seats...through politicking and having armies of protesters clash. Also, this should have the time period of 1837 to 1838... in real time! :D

the problem with a 2,000 year time span is the game would diverge greatly from historical accuracy lik civ, unless of course revolutions were built into the ai on a large scale basis. In which case ones mighty Ptolomaic or Carthaginian Empire would fragment. But with a span of say 300-400 years one just might be able to turn the mediterranean into a Celtic lake.

I like the Civilization series but EU is just so much better. It feels more like you are creating history in EU than Civ.

If Paradox would made a Civ game using the same playing style as in EU I am sure it would be sooooo much better than Civ 1,2,3. Yes it would be generic but fun anyway and much more realistic with some hundreds of civs than just the 8 Fireaxis included in Civ 3.

Since they are planning to use the EU 2 engine for further games I really hope that Crusader Universalis will be next.

Me too - 'cause the longer the period the more you get away from the history of whatever era you are trying to model.:)

Having said that, however, the further back in time you go the longer the game can be without diverging too far from history - not as rapid tech/social development.

No you can play 16, but on the diplo scenario there's place only for 8

In another post it was announced that there are 2 games under construction:p on the EU game engine. Not really many sneaky news, but it has been told that they will be about some other game periods, but don't think it will be "Roma Universalis"

Well, at least from the criptic posts oo Paradox guys...
