I dont like the idea of starting EUIII even earlier. The farther in history you go, the more unhistorical it gets as you progress. We wouldn't want Ethiopia to have colonized the Americas, Chinese in Iberia, etc...
Originally posted by VultureGFF Whoever said it, not 1355... 1302 at least HAS to be included. Battle of the Golden Spurs, Flemish history... It would be a cool period in Scotland as well with William Wallace around
I'd pay 20$ more for a game with that leader in it Smack some butt. Can you imagine.. William in Thrace, William in Ingermanland, William in Isle Royale.. WOW
Imagine, if the Visigoths build a shipyard, they'll get a colonist every year. By 1000 AD, North America could be entirely Visigothic. And Byzantium could have conquered China and Australasia. Thrilling.
Anything, anything, so long as they do not change the brilliant graphics.
You could start it much earlier - play the Romans, Spartans, Celts or Neanderthals!
Like in Civ2 - I always loved the beginning with one little spearman exploring his surroundings ... "wow! the sea!"
But to make it work in EU you'd have to make the game dynamics change over time.
For example, hardly any settlers or explorers until the 13th - 14th centuries and a limit to the technological advances you can achieve befeore their "proper" time. A Permanent Terra Incognita that receded over time.
I could suggest more details but they'll have to wait for EU8.
