I don't know how to make a Mac exe. Someone else, perhaps a Mac user, will need to do this. Sorry.

It doesn't work right on my other computer either. Thnx. for notifying me of this guys. Sorry I didn't understand what you guys meant at first. I'll fix the problem. I'll let you know what date I can defintely have it up and available. I can't give a definite date at the moment for reasons I don't care to get into right now.

Also I found a number of scripting errors that I myself made that strongly negatively effect the Ottoman and Mughal AIs. I also added a number of AI adjustments to both those AIs in addition to those scripting error fixes and they are doing quite well under the two recent playtests. So I'll release 1.6.2 when I reupload the mod.

Just as an update, I don't think I'll be able to upload EP 1.6.2 for about two more weeks. Sorry guys. It seems I have to switch internet companies. :(

EP 1.6.2 will have alot of work done to the Ottomans though, as I've been studying up on them and have already added a substantial amount of new leaders. I'll likely have my new Otto events scripted by then and have them rebalanced for both AI and human players too. My wife is out of town this weekend so I'll likely get alot of it done this weekend. :)

Unfortuneately my new internet provider claims i cannot have service till the 18th of this month. :( So don't expect the next version of EP till the second half of this month. Sorry guys.

As an update, I been doing alot more work on the Ottomans. Darn near everything about them will have large numbers of changes in the next EP version. So expect a whole different game with the Ottos next version.

This all sounds great, IDLF - I can't wait for the new version :D

I've already decided to play Brabant/Netherlands this time though as I've never tried it in any mod so the Ottoman and Austrian events won't effect me too much :)

By the way I was playing Ak Koyunlu/Persia and a few years before turning into Persia I got the "AI event to make AK die" which totally messed up my policy sliders :( shouldn´t there be a AI = yes check in the event?

The Ottos have gone mad btw, by 1660 they own all of Hungary, bits of Poland and are on the gates to Vienna :) I´m curious to see how the Austrians and Polish will beat them back.

I'm a big fan of Brabant->Netherlands. I did alot of work on them. The Netherlands are very strong in EP but Brabant has to hold on for it's life till you can make them into the Netherlands. So don't get discouraged if they seem too hard. :) It's a totally different story once you become the Netherlands.

I'll fix it in the next version. Thnx for the bug report. BTW, Persia is next on my work list. I've completed all of the Ottos changes that affect human players already, except that I have 2 or 3 late game events to still script. But that can wait as I'm playtesting them for human players and I'm not that far yet.

I'm going to do alot of work on Persia though and make them challenging for human players. I intend that they be added to the Mughals, Ottomans, and Ormuz->Oman as great Muslim countries to play in EP. I'm going to do alot of work on 18th century Persia especially. It's a very interesting time period and I hope to make Persia alot of fun to play and make the Persian AI a factor in games where they border human players. So far I have about half the reading for this done already. I'll probably finish most of the reading this weekend as I have 2 12 hour shifts for work. Ya that's right I read on my job. Security work is great! :D Anyways the next version may very well have some of the Persian changes too.

The Ottos are broken in the last two versions. :( Unfortunately its even my own fault as its caused by scripting errors. The next version the Otto AI and the Mughal AI, which is also broken by the same scripting errors, will be fixed and EP users should notice a massive improvement in their performances.

Sounds good.

BTW everybody I finally have internet on my computer. My programmer buddy is coming over on the 17th. So the next version of EP will be available then. I think I'll just call it "EP 1.7.1" since it has so much new work on it. However, I doubt I can get 100% of my Otto changes in by then. So I'll likely upload 1.7.2 in the not too distant future. Perhaps some feedbacl by Otto users before then may be useful too. Anyways I've already got alot of Otto changes in the game.

EP171 Error

I downloaded 171 twice, extracted from the zip, and ran the exe. Each time when I run the exe I get the following error

run time error at 183. Internal error an attempt was made to expand the app constant before it was initialized.

Could you please try to download and run the exe on your end?

Thanks

I did DL it and ran the executeable already and it worked okay. I'll run this by my programmer friend who helps me with things like this.
