Europa IV crashes at the start of the month

Periodically while I'm playing Europa Universalis IV on Ironman mode the game will crash at the start of the month when the random event arrives. I do not know what is causing this and how to fix this issue. Other people have been saying there has been this issue but I have not found a definitive means of fixing it.

On my linux installation the same happens for me. The first of the month the ironman game crashes. I can continue playing the save on my windows computer without a problem though
