Is the defensive idea that gives +1 leader siege broken? My armies without generals or with generals who have zero siege don't have any bonus listed in the siege screen. I thought that was the only place the siege stat was used.

+1 siege means the new leaders that you create will have 1 higher siege stat. It does not affect leaderless armies or existing leaders.

So I'm playing Sweden and I want to become the Holy Roman Emperor, how do I proceed?
I own some lands in northern Germany that belongs to the empire and it seems that electors don't vote anymore, the title is hereditary.

If the electors don't vote, you're not going to be getting elected. =)

Someone mentioned here that you can possibly get the imperial title if you vassalize/PU the current emperor, but I do not know if that is true or if it works once the title is hereditary...
The other option is to force the repeal of the reform that banned the voting. Then you can try to diplomatically get the title.

I feared that was the case. How do I repeal reforms? I don't see any option in the HRE tab, neither do I seem to be able to declare war for it.

You get the option during the peace negotiations. It costs a cool 100% warscore. And you don't seem to be able to roll back the effects of a couple of the last reforms, (eg if the emperor has vassalised the electors, they don't get de-vassalised).

Ok, now ive got a question.

After picking the idea giving me +1 to siege - im still producing generals with blank value in siege. +5, + 50 + 100 years, no difference. Is this +1 additional value, not added directly during creation, but added dynamically during sieges? Or should I file a bug report, cause I can 100% create generals with blank stats after getting +ideas? Same with other bonus stats.

Got a question. Im HRE and I just passed the 2nd last vote, the states have to chose between becoming my vassals or be at war with me. Im at war with quite a few of those states. I checked the peace conditions and many of them are too large to vassalize in the peace deal. I guess this means I wont be able to vassalize them? I thought I would vassalize them all with that decision and if they didnt wanna I could just stomp them and force them by peace deal, sort of like how you can force a PU, but I guess Im wrong?

Also, how does it work in terms of relations. Im at 11/11 right now, will countries that I vassalize count as extra relation? Cause the one's that accepted the deal dont seem to count as relation.

Thx for answers :)

IRC it should be added during creation...

Another HRE question here. Is there a (hidden) requirement for some of the Emperor actions? I am Prussia and the Emperor, and earlier in my game I recall seeing appoint Elector and demand religious conversion in the Emperor options in diplomacy. Now all that is listed under the Emperor "tab" is demand unlawful territory and bestow imperial grace. The HRE is currently at 5 electors and therefore suffering a penalty to authority yet I can't seem to appoint a new Elector.

Thanks for any insight.

I made the same decision. Anyone who didn't come quietly probably also removed their territory from the HRE as well. They're gone forever, and the only way to get them back is the old fashioned ways: conquest, vassalization, PU, or (if you're lucky) returning cores to those that DID come quietly. Any of those you add in the old fashioned ways will count as relations.

Another HRE question here. Is there a (hidden) requirement for some of the Emperor actions? I noticed the same thing after I passed one of the later reforms. I imagine it's a bug of sorts. However, after I passed the NEXT reform, the penalty seemed to go away. Unfortunately, I don't have a better answer for you except that. The religious conversion, I think, is intentionally disabled after you pass the no-war reform.

Modifiers to general stats are applied at the time the generals are created.

If I'm playing as England, what is the easiest way to vassalize Scotland?

I tried immediately making peace with France & then using the vassalize scotland mission to get cassus belli, and then I attacked.
However, Burgundy is an ally of Scotland as well, and they take over the war... so even after I completely conquer Scotland I can't get it all.

Do I need to fight each of their allies until I convince them all to annul the treaty?

I am pretty sure that Scotland is too big to vassalize in one go anyway. You'll have to take a little bit and then vassalize the remainder. If you take one or two territories the first time and annul the treaty, you should be able to vassalize them the next time.

How do I do to fully annex a country? I am currently playing as Denmark and I want to form Scandinavia. I have almost all of swedens land but the cost for annexation is still over 100%?

This is the same answer as above. It's not possible and will require more than one war.

I also have a short question. Is there a possibility to check what provinces a nation currently owns? In the Ledger I can only check how many they own, but not which ones.

Someone may have a better answer (I do not know if there is a list) but visually: switch to Diplomacy mapmode and click on the nation in question. All of their provinces you have revealed will highlight green.
