Hey. How do you get less attrition with your navies (other than with explorers)? I'm finding it difficult to reach certain points in the map without destroying my ships. Is it any technology level, or idea group? I didn't see it.

There's a diplomatic tech (I think 22) which will remove increased attrition from open seas (otherwise you'll take attrition there even if inside your naval range). Other than that fleet basing rights and expanding strategically can also work wonders.

In my game I won the Hundred Years War a few years ago and formed a PU with France. Now I notice that France has this modifier "A union only in name" that is damaging a lot my relations with them (currently giving -174 penalty). What can I do?!

How does call for Crusade work? I'm the Papal Controller. I called for a Crusade against a muslim country, by going to their Diplo screen. Now I have a -100 modifier with them that says they refused my cal for a Crusade. Thinking I'd clicked the wrong place, I checked on the Papal States, same button, and it says I cannot call for a Crusade against Christian nations. If I DoW the muslim target, I get -Stab for no CB.

How does it work?

[The manual has the word Crusades four times - two mentioning CK, one generically referring to jihads and crusades, and one listing the benefits of being Papal Controller]

I am toying with a scenario where I will beat Ottomans as Russia, release Crimea as vassal and later annex him (getting cores there while so I can meanwhile conquer Eastern Europe). Now, is it a viable option? More precisely: Will I be able to annex quite big Crimea (let´s say 15 provinces) and how long will it take (and if there is a way how to make it quicker, where? I know diplomatic reputation helps).

The bigger you are the longer it takes. The most important factor in decreasing time is having fabricated a claim first. Cuts 50% of time and cost or something like that.

The event 'natives encountering our provinces'. Does it just apply to the single province or all of your colonies in the future?

It only fires once so my guess is it applies to all of your colonies.

Is there anyway to get a CB on new world countries other than finishing the exploration idea group? I want to earn some quick gold....

So I am finishing up a game of CK2 to convert, and I have a few questions.

Do Ireland, Brittany, and/or Wales have unique ideals?

Also what are the requirements for forming GB? And how are your primary and accepted cultures determined? Is it locked in for each country? Is it tax based? Does your leader effect it when you convert from CK?

Get an adjacent province and holy war

Thanks, I was afraid that was the answer. I want to be able to afford defender of the faith before the reformation hits, but I won't be able to get a colony there quick enough. Looks like it's loans or a long peace for me.

So I am finishing up a game of CK2 to convert, and I have a few questions.

Do Ireland, Brittany, and/or Wales have unique ideals?

Also what are the requirements for forming GB? And how are your primary and accepted cultures determined? Is it locked in for each country? Is it tax based? Does your leader effect it when you convert from CK?

Hmm. I'm not sure about the unique ideas. To form GB, you must be either Scottish or English I think. The one question is know the answer for sure is that accepted cultures are not locked in. You can gain other accepted cultures probably based on tax base. As for the ck conversion, I dunno. Though I have read some threads and people are discussing how they have lots of accepted cultures when they convert the save. So I suppose it's possible for cultures to be accepted through the conversion dlc.
