Wel that information is nowhere visible ingame....
There is a great power page in the ledger which also shows the great powers which have fallen below the 8th rank:

And you can see if a country is a great power by looking at the tooltip for the power projection in the ledger:

And you can see it in the tooltip for the prestige in the diplomacy interface

How can I get a war leader to peace out? With 80 war score and .11 calls for peace, I had to tag Bohemia to end the league war.
Sometimes changing war occupation of some provinces that you control to the war leader can make the difference, especially if it includes the war goal and/or the war leader has set them as provinces of interest.

But in general, the AI in this patch will keep pushing the war for total surrender if it believes it can achieve this outcome.

The first one can't be my fault; I don't think Bohemia cares about stuff in the Rhine or Russia. Second, well, with .11 WE, all of Russia left to siege, Britain unreachable, and 80% warscore, they couldn't have pushed more.

If the AI thinks it has the military advantage and can keep sieging provinces for more war score, they won't car about the war exhaustion until it gets super high.

Do you have 0.11 WE in total, or +0.11 monthly WE gain from call for peace? The former is nothing, the latter is bad but might be tolerable if you can afford spending some dip points to reduce WE.

Call for peace mechanic is somewhat broken. It doesn't affect AI at all, and when AI is a war leader it doesn't care about player. On the other hand, in League War (which IRL lasted for 30 years) AI has +50 war enthusiasm which makes it even more unlikely to peace out. I think one of following changes in game mechanics needs to be done:
  • get rid of call for peace entirely, or in case player is not a war leader, or at least in specific case of League War;
  • increase war score threshold when call for peace starts in case of League War, e.g. to 90%;
  • give monthly WE reduction to all participants of League War (e.g. -0.03 like from being Defender of the Faith), and maybe reduce +50 war enthusiasm AI bonus to balance it.
Though you are not entirely helpless - you could siege down Russia and Britain to increase overall war score, or support rebels in these countries to make them more likely to peace out.

Both I and Bohemia were getting .11 monthly WE, though mine was reduced from DotF and Innovative. Russia wasn’t really dead; I had sieged Moscow, but they had recovered it, and we were only progressing up north. Russia was by no means dead.

Britain couldn’t be landed on, at least by me; my navy was powerful but entirely galleys and transports for the Eastern Mediterranean, and Britain was… Britain. Denmark might have been able to land, but they didn’t, probably because most of the Kalmar Union was being sieged by Russia at one point (which is probably what allowed my southern offensive). But it is strange, because they recovered.

Your ideas to fix this are great! I especially like the first one. Oh, and Bohemia had already peace out all but Saxony of the German minors at this point; I really think the only reason that they didn’t peace was Britain.

Finally, what tech is support rebels? This was a late league war, in about 1610; Bohemia took their sweet time converting.

P.S. I posted a map of this world circa 1590 on the post-your-empire-forum. Could be helpful.

13 Colonies have 88.8% liberty desire and dear love for my Revolutionary France, who agitated for Liberty. But because of my super-duper Army Strength I cannot Support American independence? Shouldn't it be the other way around? Is this a bug?

Encourage Conversion to Judaism

I did search for "conversion" in the save, but none of the results had anything to to with Ethiopia. Where in saves are country modifiers stored?

If it helps, I'm on a Mac. Decompressing the save shows me ai, gamestate, and meta folders, and nothing even remotely helpful is in the ai or meta folders.

It's no huge problem! I can easily switch away from Abrahamic Roots, I haven't taken any idea groups beyond Exploration or Expansion yet, and being unable to reliably convert most provinces may cause cultural issues. Even so, I would also like to know how I can raise heathen tolerance, just in case these file shenanigans don't work.

I deleted that statement from the save, but the game corrupted. Oh well. I'll start a new game. :(
Do you have experience with save game editing? If not, you maybe broke something unrelated. To avoid this, it is helpful to make an uncompressed save in eu4(so you don't have to unzip it and zip it again) and load it with notepad++ or another editor which doesn't mess with the encoding, line endings and which can handle a huge file (the windows notepad can't handle the save file and usually breaks it).
In any case, you must not get rid of the decision, but you have to get rid of the modifier restricted_offices which it gives.

An alternative to save game editing is to use a run file which removes the modifier. For example:
Code:
remove_country_modifier = restricted_offices

I had already recovered the file and made a new uncompressed save, so I tried a run file, which failed. Deleting it from the save file worked perfectly though! Humanism, here I come! After a mil group, which will be either naval or quantity, with the other coming later. Thanks for your help!
