Question: if i have validated a mission and can take a reward (but don't want to take it "now"), will I have to start again if I "lose" the mission objective, or does the reward remain takable even if I don't meet the requirement when I want to use it?

Question: if i have validated a mission and can take a reward (but don't want to take it "now"), will I have to start again if I "lose" the mission objective, or does the reward remain takable even if I don't meet the requirement when I want to use it?
You need to meet the requirement to be able to take it. If you lose one of the objective before you take reward, you'll need to redo that objective.

I had a bad heir. I made him general, so hopefully he dies. Now he died and I got 2 messages of new heirs!? But the worse one became heir. What was this?

Does anyone encounter this problem on current patch? My vassal - Fadl - won't core its provinces, has decent admin production and no admin tech.

Other vassals have no problems with coring, fighting their own rebels and taking care of minor wars.

/ok, simple game reset worked this time. it was a normal game so I guess I could've switched tags to core it

Well he has negative stab. iirc AI prioritize getting the stab up over coring.

If I want to declare war on Burgundy, their vasalls will be co-belligerents automatically.
If I declare war on their minor Holland instead, the tooltip says Burgundy will be a co-belligerent.
Do I fight the war against Holland or against Burgundy? I would think for real it is Burgundy.
But will the other minors of Burgundy be co-belligerents (no increased costs, no increased AE) if the target of the declaration was Holland the underling?

I had to flush out my mods folder. Despite doing so, and re-subscribing to my mods, the mods content downloaded into the SteamWorkshop folder but the Mods Folder only has a single ugc file. The mods appear in my mod list but won't enable. How do I force steam to download the ugc file?

Steam doesn't create the ugc files. The launcher does that. Did you start the launcher after steam finished downloading the mods? If the launcher doesn't create the ugc files, something is probably preventing it from writing to the mod folder. The usual culprits are antivirus or ransomware protection software.

yes right. But this is funny: If I give the declaration to Burgundy my ally does not want to join because "attitude towards enemy", but if I declare on their underlings Holland, my ally wants to join.
Funny, isnt it?
It's also possible your ally don't want to join against the subject war due high relation, but after you declare the war it will recalculate that is a war against the overlord. Meaning if you can call him in after the war declaration.

I cleared out the mod folder, and exactly one new mod file got created.

I cleared out the mod folder, and exactly one new mod file got created.
I have not heard of this exact situation before. But I can think of the following things that might help you:
  • Did you make sure that your harddisk isn't full?
  • Maybe one of the mods is broken and the launcher stops creating new mod files after it encountered the broken mod. You can try to unsubscribe from all mods, start the launcher and exit it again and then subscribe to the mods one by one. After each mod finished downloading you can start the launcher to see if the mod can be enabled and if the .mod file gets created.
  • Maybe the launcher didn't realize that you cleared the mod folder. In that case it may help to also delete the file mods_registry.json and the folder .launcher-cache
  • Maybe the log files from the launcher contain some information. They are in C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/ on Windows. On Linux they are in ~/.local/share/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2 and on macOS they are in ~/Library/Application Support/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2

Playing Kilwa and managed to grab South African coast before Europe got there. I control all territory in Zanzibar and Aden nodes and have started colonising in Malacca node (first time using Trade Companies). At present I'm transferring trade from Gujarat and Aden. When I get the merchants do I want to be steering from Malacca to Cape and have a merchant collecting in Cape until I can get a foothold in India?

Playing Kilwa and managed to grab South African coast before Europe got there. I control all territory in Zanzibar and Aden nodes and have started colonising in Malacca node (first time using Trade Companies). At present I'm transferring trade from Gujarat and Aden. When I get the merchants do I want to be steering from Malacca to Cape and have a merchant collecting in Cape until I can get a foothold in India?
If you have the south african and zanzibar node on lock down (as in having 95%-100% of the tradepower), it's better to move your trade capital there. Keep your merchants in Gujarat and Aden. And add a trader in Malacca when you have it. Although do need to have some power in the Ivory coast to prevent your trade money leaking away.

Going from memory since at work. Zanzibar is currently my home node and have it on lockdown. Cape is at 46% as I have only colonised sea provinces atm and don't think I've added trade buildings. It's just being used to stop Zanzibar trade leaking away. I assume the ideal scenario once Malaccan merchant becomes available is to replicate what I'm doing with Zanzibar/Cape with Cape/Ivory Coast and moving trade capital to Cape?

If you only have 46% trade power in the cape you better off just collect in Mallaca instead transfer towards the cape. Actually I wonder why it's that low. It would be a lot of power in the ivory coast pulling it away.

The ideal scenario is transfering mallaca towards bengal into India and through many jumps towards Aden into Zanzibar due the trade having to travel through multiple nodes. But that means you'll need to lockdown india.
