Sorry if this was asked before sorry, but what exactly is the formula for monarch death 'based on age'
i'm trying to get a pu over milan as savoy and save scum to get it
I also saw that it was on the wiki however it has not been updated since 1.25
As far as we know, the death chance based on the age has not changed since 1.25. The only thing that might not be accurate on the wiki is the additional death chance from being a general. The detailed military leader death table doesn't contain information about drilling. And the life expectancy charts for rulers which are generals doesn't contain the details for the different situations that they might be in as a general. But according to the penultimate dev diary, the death chance for generals and rulers which are generals is going to change in 1.30.

I'm planning on doing a Mughals game soon, and I'm wanting to try out a little strategy to snag colonialism without too much effort.

Take the first two exploration ideas first, and get access to the uncolonized land in Siberia above Uzbek, either through access or conquest. Send a conquistador to Eastern Siberia.

No-CB one of the Siberian minors who has claims on their neighbours, and vassalize them. Use their claims to hopefully get land you can take and core. Use that land as a springboard to explore/colonize your way to Alaska. With luck you'll spawn Colonialism, but with access to Alaska you can spawn a CN there.

You have to pay for the ideas, stab, and vassalizing, but it still should mean a profit in terms of monarch points, no?

As a nation that doesn't pick exploration, what is a good target year for reaching India?

It depends A LOT. A generic rule of thumb would be ~1600, so you can roll as your first absolutism conquest. But some countries start in a position to get there way faster. Anything meaningfully faster is better.

Get that backup save, deironmanize it, open in single player, open console, and type spectate

Guys, is there any way to turn as the Commonwealth to Hetmanate?

idk what that tag is, but if you're an endgame tag (commonwealth is one), you're eligible for only 3 tags afterwards: Mongol Empire, Roman Empire and Holy Roman Empire. So your only option is release play as.

I know it is difficult to compare, but which of these runs is farther along for a WC?

Vassals: Syria, Iraq, Nogai

If I recall correctly (the run is 4 months old) the only vassal at the time was Deccan.

In terms of expansion is quite similar so the comparing that doesn't mean very much. But if you compare the eco base I would say the first one is a lot better. You're not in debt, don't have corruption and the most important you haven't expand to the fricking wasteland (north) yet.

Owning that land directly is pretty much an eco disaster for Mughals. It's low dev and with the territory limit thing you don't want to expand to low dev area if you can't avoid and the trade there isn't rich. You would be better of to use those resources to expand southwards. Conquer the Aden trade node and going to east africa. Richer land, better trade goods and it's trade company land.

My next targets are, in roughly descending order of importance

  1. Continue consolidating India. I think I'm just 1 good war against the Bahmanis-Bengal alliance away from making the rest of the region completely free to take.
  2. Attack Mamluks and designate Hormuz as a co-belligerent to break their alliance with the Ottomans and vassalize them
  3. Attack Yarkand to start working on China
  4. Expand into Zanzibar TC to gain and extra merchant. i've chartered Zanzibar proper, but I lack a navy to transport a stack of mine over to start conquest in the area.
  5. Eat GH to fully contain the Ottomans and force the Commonwealth (who is guaranteeing them) to break their alliance with France
  6. Cripple Russia
Also another, now actually simple question:

Transfer trade power is useless without a merchant in the node in which power is transferred, right?

Yeah it's useless. Without a merchant you don't have control over where the trade flows.

Though if I use it on a nation that's directly downstream of my home node, for example the Syria in the game on the prior page, I will get better trade retention is I "simulate" having power in that node, right?
