Who are some skilled Let's Players/AARers that I could follow to pick up some tips about the game? I have the basics down but I'm coming back from a long hiatus and I'm unfamiliar with all of the new patch/expansion content.

Thanks!

Ottomans are allied with Morocco and Tunis, who are coincidentally at war with each other.
According to the game both of them will assist OE if I declare on them.

What happens with their own war when they both join on OE's side against me?

They cannot both join, and so they will not both join. One will, one will not.

If I'm a tributary of Ming and I stop paying, what can they do? They will break tributary and then declare war or they could declare war at any moment even while I'm still their tributary?

They can't declare war on a tributary. When trust gets below 30 they will cancel it and probably declare war if you are weak. If you want to stay a tributary you can reject payment with no ill effects - just make sure Trust doesn't go below 30. I believe you lose 15 for each payment refusal and you lose 10 for cancelling.

Is there a way to enforce religious unity in the HRE when the leagues have not formed? I was fast enough for the Reformation to not get out of control. But a few scattered OPMs converted (which are far from my borders, so Deus doesn't Vult).

Me of course I am obvious the most fabulous of them all.

On a serious note, DDRJake in general is known for excellent strategy though you need to catch a stream to get ask questions and the like. TBH its really best to see if you can find a walkthrough guide for an achievement or something as they tend to have much greater detail than say just a regular lets play. Arumba has a reputation for making videos that are good until you start yelling at the screen every few seconds.

How far can you stack culture conversion cost reduction? I'm wondering if it's viable to make a large ethnically homogeneous Manchu-Shinto empire.

i think the hard cap for stacking stuff like this is -95%. for some it might be 90%. Let's just say you can stack it a LOT usually, over 80%.

Who are some skilled Let's Players/AARers that I could follow to pick up some tips about the game? I have the basics down but I'm coming back from a long hiatus and I'm unfamiliar with all of the new patch/expansion content.

Thanks!

If you want some AAR to read, visit the AAR forum. Some 1.20 aar are ongoing there. you can read mine in my signature (liks are below this post), but my last one is 1.18 patch. my aar do tend to show the new dlc mechanics and how to (ab)use them each patch I made them on.

as for streamers, watch DDRJake, or heck, even me! Links for my youtube and twitch channel are in my signature also. I play very hard on tough achievements and explain what I'm doing constantly, going REALLY slow, methodical, and it's said I got a nice voice! ;)

What should I do with Portugal? I am Castile and I have 99% warscore against Portugal and clains on all their coastal provinces. Should I cede as much as possible or is there a good reason to let Portugal live as a healthy state?

There's no right answer to that question. It really depends what your objectives are for your game. If you are trying to remove them as a threat to your colonial efforts then take their coast (and their islands) as that will slow them down a lot. But keeping them as a whipping boy who is able to colonise for you and from whom you take colonies every few years might also be useful.

Hello Guys,

I just wanted to know if there are any recent changes to the whole issue of dealing with the Dutch Revolts.

I have just hit the Burgundian Inheritance as Castille, and I already got the Iberian Wedding. I don't really want to shift my capital to the lowlands, so is the best alternative to culture convert the provinces?

It's a trinary choice:

a) deal with the massive revolts
b) move your capital
c) culture convert the area

You have to choose one of them...

They probably won't get a good ally because of distance penalty and maluses of army strength. And the idea is to make them keep only the islands, or Algarve and the islands. Even if they ally France for instance, due to "threatened by Spain" modifier, this will just be a war vs France, because they'll field 8k troops max.
