My companies in The Moluccas and Philippines are still there. Does anyone have a clue about what's going on? Would be greatly appreciated.
It's definitely a bug. Check the provinces to see if they all have a new negative goods modifier. I bet things will be fine after five years when that modifier ends - you should then be able to create the trade company again.
I know you've got them out now but, for future reference, a couple of extra points.
Firstly, I'm pretty sure that a nation cannot leave voluntarily within the first two years of joining a coalition. They can be forced out (by a truce, for example) but they cannot leave just because relations are high enough. Perhaps that was why they didn't leave straight away in your case?

interesting, didn't know that.
but increasing opinion usually gets them out, if one straggler nation borderline 0 opinion joins it due to -5 opinion. A gift then usually gets them out.
Or are you saying they can't leave coalition at negative opinion within two years?
Any information? What is the effect of scorched earth?
The tooltip doesn't give any information except -50% speed in hostile land (I did it on my own land in scandinavia).
has that any effect on attrition (seems not) or army size cap sustainable on that province (seems not).
I was trying to erode the 78k army of Scandinavia before fighting them on my lvl 8 fortress...
I play Japan and I'm colonizing the Western coast of the Americas (sizable colonies in Mexico, California, Alaska, Columbia and Peru). But...all my missions are about conquering Korea and Mandchuria, which strike me as sort of super suicidal , as they are tributaries of the Mings...
Are you supposed to take head on the Ming empire ? (obviously, a powerful ming empire). That's going to be quite tough, as they have a 5 to 1 advantage in soldiers and my efforts to have institutions and modern tech means that both Korea and Ming have them...
Probably a common question here but I could't found it. If I declare on Austria's junior partner Hungary, will it trigger the catholic league like declaring directly on Austria?

Who is better - catholicism, reformed or protestantism?
I liked the concept of custom nations, so I decided to try "From humble origins" after trying ideas guy.
I fixed the custom nations options to make 50 the maximum number of points allowed. My nation only has 49 points (all Irish provinces except for Pale, with mostly generic ideas). But when I start up the game it doesn't show that I'm eligible for the achievement. This is different from my ideas guy run, where it said I was eligible for the achievement from the start.
Have I made a mistake somewhere?
Did you take a random trait for your leader? This can end up giving you a positive trait that would take the cost over 50 points and so render you ineligible.

My understanding is that they cannot leave the coalition voluntarily in the first two years, whatever level of opinion they have.
