Basically, any monarchy not at war with the revolutionary country will suffer penalties for allowing the revolution to go unchallenged and to thereby increase the risk of it spreading.

So I should declare war on France, to stop the Revolution? Do I have such a diplomatic option?

How to become republic as Majapahit in the newest patch (Ming). Do any ideagroups still spawn rebels that turn you into a republic?

If Cyprus is still around then they will probably be in a trade league and if that is Lubeck's trade league then you might be able to get a CB against someone in that league which you could use to take Cyprus. Same applies to the Knights.

Otherwise, there's always the no CB option to get a base down there. The Christians won't care that much and if your no CB war is just over Cyprus then there won't be too much AE with anyone.

I think Knights is still around but Cyprus had collapsed after a separatist revolt and got annexed into Byzantium who I happen to be allied with. But that's a good thinking right there. I've also forgotten about a possibility of a CB war with a country with whom Knights is allied with. Once that country honored the call to arms, I can then use this opportunity to seize Rhodes to fabricate the claims upon Egypt. I already possessed the strongest navy in the world so it's no problem for me. ;p

Also, if Spain is allied with Knights as I've seen sometimes in past games, I can use Colonialism CB for that. But that Spain option is sort of ruled out because it is also allied with Savoy, one of my other allies unless Savoy is tied down in a war and would dishonor the call. I think at this point, Spain is also allied with Ottomans but that is not a big problem (yes, Byzantium and Ottomans still co-existed by 1650s.... because I guaranteed them both ;p).

Also do note that at this point, England already effectively dominated the India with numerous provinces along with vassals so I had well over 10 divisions of my own in India along with sizeable transport fleets along with vassals that can open eastern front if Ottomans were to honor a CTA with Spain while opening a western front. Should be interesting if that happened. ;)

I also can't use Call Crusades as England had converted to Protestantism due to Act of Supremacy event and thus effectively ruled it out as a possible curia controller so it is kind of too late on that one. Something I should've thought of when I managed to control the curia at one time while still Catholic.

At any rate, I will keep that Cyprus thing in mind next time I make another England run. Thanks!

My resolution is 1366X768 and there's no option to put it higher. Still the terrain picture is not showing. Is the option I can choose from dependent on my machine (I'm playing with a notebook)? What resolution do you play then?
Yes it is. You might be capable of putting it higher by editing settings.txt in documents but I don't think that works.

Check the distance between province view and top bar, presumably there is no space for the image to fit.

Yeah. There's no room on your screen for the terrain picture.

It's quite common for 1366x768 to be the maximum resolution available on a laptop.

Hi all,

2 questions:

1) Is there somewhere a succint explanation of what that new bar on top actually does/means/implies? "Age of [...]" is it merely informative?
2) I'm playing as Ethiopia as first country in the new patch (without the new DLC though) and I randomly keep getting 2 heirs at the same time. So far in 100 years of game it occurred 3 times I think, and I wouldn't mind so much if not all three times the worst of the two actually remained afterwards instead of the better one :D I read about this bug last year, anyone else has been encountering it again since the new patch?

I can only answer your first question, no idea about the second one. That new bar represents the Ages. You need the Mandate of Heaven DLC in order for it to have any functionality, no idea why it even is there without the DLC as it's useless. You can read more about the Ages on the EUIV Wiki.

Even without MoH the game uses Ages to control the availability of some events and disasters.

Yes you do, it allows you to dismantle the revolution as a peace demand.

Thank you!
Three more questions:

1) If no country attacks France (as the country where the Revolution appears) for stopping the Revolution, beside the penalty for Counter Revolution, will there be other events/downsides of the Revolution? Does it spread like the Reformation, for example? Will it affect my Portuguese Monarchy in any way?

2) If my truce with France ends, will the penalty for Counter Revolution re-activate?

3) If yes, will another truce (of any kind) get rid of the penalty, right?

They still haven't fixed that in 1.20? That's disappointing :(
