I'm playing as Ming with all the dlcs, including the last Mandate of heaven DLC.

I have the trone of china, and meritocracy is up to 97.

I want my emperor to abdicate (it's a bad 0 3 4 and my heir is 3 5 2); he is emperor since 20 years. I have 99 prestige and +3 stability.

From what I see, I should be able to abdicate but when I want to go for that option, the tooltip on the button says "we must have a legitimity of at least 50 to abdicate".

But since I have the trone of China, Legitimacy is replaced with meritocracy, which is at 97 as I said earler.
Is that normal? How can I boost the legitimacy? "enforcing governement option in governement tab puts +10 in meritocracy for 100 Military Points).

If I truce break will it also affect the stability in my pu partners?

I do not believe so.

That sounds like a bug but I do not know whether the bug is that you should be able to abdicate at the cost of meritocracy or that you should not be able to abdicate at all but the tooltip does not tell you that. Either way, probably best to make a bug report with screenshots and your save attached.

What's supposed to do the last mandate's bonus for Ming? I thought it was +1 to monthly admin but it's not.

It works in the same way as the Prussian Monarchy government type in that it guarantees that all future rulers or heirs get a guaranteed minimum of 1 in admin when they spawn.

Hang on...

My understanding (after reading last night) - and from checking the wiki - is that you always get a flat 20% of the provincial trade power to every upstream node (regardless of how many upstream node are connected to a given node); and that trade POWER doesn't get split (or go) downstream (only trade VALUE does, according to the proportion of trade power in that node).

Where does the 40% come from? Did they change it at some point to the fixed 20%, from 40%/connecting nodes, maybe?

If it IS 20% to all, as the wiki seems to indicate, then 50*0.2*0.2, then the 2 TP you get would be right and that might explain why the numbers weren't as high as you thought they would be.

Also, as my current light ships only generate 30.5 TP, the 1.22 trade power they generated I could have missed easily. (I'll have another experiment later, now I know what I'm looking for.)

Right; reply/answer to myself (and any furture googlers) - for the sake of arguement, now I've had chance to get the requisite trade power, thansk to brifbates, herlp above to know what to look for.

What does +20% ship tradepower propagation mean?

Answer: +20% ship tradepower propagation means that you treat the trade power of your ships as if it were province trade power, and you get 20% of the 20% of province trade power you would get if your ships were provinces to upstream nodes.

E.g., if I have an 83-trade power light ship fleet protecting trade at Ivory Coast, Cape of Good Hope gets a +3.32 trade power (83 x 0.2 x 0.2) in addition to the transferred trade power from Ivory's Coast's provinces.

I don't think that is correct. Unless they changed it a couple patches ago, I should be able to dismantle the HRE when all of the elector-princes are on my side of the war and the emperor's capital is occupied. The only thing that I can think of is that the Emperor is not the war leader on the opposite side. Does anyone know if this is the case?

Are any of the elector's capitals occupied by the other side?

What did you do wrong? I use that method to break alliances literally all the time. You did call Austria into the war in the initial declaration, right?

Maybe you tell me. I have screenshots.

Even if the second one says "Austria honored their ALLIANCE with brunswick", they didnt have one, i checked that! Also Austria is NOT emperor.

(I said Burgundy and Lorraine, but it was Brunswick and Luxembourg, but thats the same in green.)

Still, that tells us that it didn't happen because of Luxembourg, but because of Brunswick. Was Austria guaranteeing Brunswick, by chance? (Although that really should have shown up if they were.) If not, looks like a bug, though I'm not sure how or why.

Okay, I have pinpointed the HRE dismantle problem by playing around the console. One of my ally electors has an elector under a personal union. When a subject country (either vassal or junior partner) is an elector, there is no possible way to dismantle the HRE (by allying the overlord of that elector).

Austria Catholic (or other religion different than yours) DotF?

I am not sure what they are, I think Catholic like me, but what you mean with DotF - If I did a declaration of true faith? I did a conquest on Brunswick and I called Austria in as my ally.

But as far as I know, they cant join just the other side, only because I, their ally, would have another religion, or can they?

He means that if Austria is DotF of the religion that your original target (Brunswick) is, and you're not, they will be called in even though they're your ally.

Since you're Catholic and Austria is one of the more uncommon countries to flip, that's probably not the case. Still, it's not impossible, and it wouldn't hurt to check; what religion is Austria, and what religion is Brunswick?

I checked it.
I am Catholic, Austria is Catholic too, Brunswick is Protestant.
