The Hormuz and Gulf of Aden trade nodes do not have Trade Company regions attached to them, sadly.Trade company in Oman and the other trade boost provinces?
Okay that is that. I did not understand what that option did when I chose it.
Thanks for the answer.
NB: edit: new question:
how much mandate points can we collect max? (I mean the points from the Empire of China new button at the lower screen for Ming at the start).
Is it 100 or more?
Sorry new to EU4, kindof a rookie question here... was shattered retreat removed with the latest patch? I don't have the "Mandate of Heaven" DLC, but I've been playing a new game and none of the retreats are shattered, and I I don't see the option in the menus anywhere. I'm sure that I'm probably a little late to the party on this one.. but is shattered retreat not a thing anymore or is it just hidden somewhere?
Thanks
National unrest. It's caused by events, by overextension, negative stability, legitimacy, etc. Look at the national unrest section: http://www.eu4wiki.com/Rebellion#Factorsconfused by what this unmet condition means for the Court and County disaster. what does "unrest at least 1 mean"? i feel like this should be obvious but i just dont get it or how to make my unrest 1
Okay, I spent a good hour or so reading guides and finding out approximately how the hell trade actually works (I think).
And I still haven't actually worked out the reason I stopped in the first place.
What the the merry heck does "+20% Ship tradepower propagation" actually MEAN? (From the age of reformation power.)
With some experimentaion, I just can't see what the bonus is affecting. It does appear to modify my light shps trade power (in the node). It doesn't appear to modify the 20% upstream trade power in (say) Cape of Good Hope if my light ships are on patrol in Ivory Coast... If I send my light ships to patrol Cape of Good Hope, it does not appear to change the trade power in the downstream Ivory Coast node...
(And yes, I did make sure to wait for the 1st of the month before checking the numbers.)
So what the hell?
My assumption, armed with reading how trade works, is that the tradepower propagation would mean that it would affect the upstream trade value. Which is doesn't appear to do.
Does anyone actually know what it does; or perhaps what it is SUPPOSED to do, since there is, of course, always the chance this is a bug...!

Just tested this...
It looks like you get 20% of the 40% of trade power you would get if the boats were provinces. As per usual this trade power is split evenly among all applicable nodes.
For example:
20 Caravels (2.5 tp) protecting in Novgorod generate 2 tp each in Kazan and Kiev when the bonus is active. (50*.40*.20=4, divided into 2 nodes=2)
So unless you have a crapload of trade ships you're not going to see any sort of meaningful propagation.
(Actually, it looks like something is borked in the calculation. Those same 20 caravels only generate 2 tp in Astrakhan when protecting Crimea or in Novgorod when protecting in White Sea instead of the expected 4.)

Unless 1.20 has changed anything, autonomy decays towards zero naturally over time during peacetime, and even during wartime if you have a good-quality government type, a high government rank, and/or the right Idea Group. Is there a clever way to lower local autonomy aside from just clicking the button and spending monarch points/getting unrest?
Its effects were replaced with something else in patch 1.20:whats the event id for the national bank event which gives 6x 12x and 24x loan sizes?
