For example, growing large enough to upgrade your government to an Empire makes you a cultural union which may make some cultures that you had previously promoted become automatically accepted and so free up a slot.

Does this scenario automatically free up a slot?
So, if I promote something it takes up the slot and if I upgrade the government rank and get a cultural union the slot is free again without me outraging the provinces of that culture?
Or could it be that I get a cultural union, but the slot stays occupied by the culture I promoted before, if I dont demote it?

It depends what you have promoted. For example, if you are playing as Burgundy then your primary culture is in the French group but you may well be conquering a lot of land from France which is of Francien culture and not automatically accepted. You might choose to promote this to get the benefits. Later, you upgrade your government to an Empire and become a cultural union of all French culture group cultures. This would mean that Francien is now a free accepted culture and you should have one slot available again.

However, if, still as Burgundy, you are conquering parts of England and decide to promote English to be accepted then this is not part of the French group. In this case, if you become an Empire it will make no difference to the status of English as a promoted culture using one of your slots because English will not be part of your Cultural Union.

But you are not 100% sure?

I have seen reports suggesting that this might be bugged and you might not get that slot back automatically but might need a reload. It does seems to have been a bit hit and miss though so that may be an effect of the mods people were running. Also, if there is a bug it may well be fixed in the 1.20 patch on Thursday.

What I would say is that if you want to know for sure then start up a non-ironman game as, say, Burgundy and use the console to integrate France and England, promote both Francien and English cultures, let one month tick over for things to settle down and then upgrade your government to an Empire and see what happens.

Why isn't Mandate of Heaven coming out on a Tuesday like all EU4 Expansions and it's coming out on Thursday with Stellaris which might be a conflict of intrest of someone wanting to play both new DLCs all night?

EUIV DLCs used to come out on Thursdays. It is only for the last few that they switched to Tuesdays. I personally think Tuesdays are a better release day because it is less likely to ruin Paradox's weekend with any major bugs that come up when the patch and DLC are exposed to a much larger player base but that might just be me.

Playing Inca (aiming at Sun God) and a bit confused as of what my 6th Idea group should be. I have Exploration, Expansion, Quality, Economic and Trade... I don't need stronger land units (as I've already warred everything I strictly need, owning all the islands needed and have encircled all the non-colonized provinces I need) and there doesn't seem to be any low-hanging fruits left to boost my income so I can run additional colonies ... Any options about what I should consider?

Are you saying that you have all the islands and the full perimeter of South America and that all that is left is uncolonised land? I ask because, if that is what you are saying, then the achievement should have triggered already as it does not require you to own all provinces but just all uncolonised ones. If you think you only have colonising to go then that suggests that you have missed a province (probably an island) that is part of South America as far as the game is concerned.

the only thing I'm missing is embracing Enlightenment, which is still some 25years off from spawning

1.Is it possible to rise Army Maitance only for one army (to rise their morale to max level)?
2.Is it possible to reset all achievements in the game?
1. Currently it is only possible for condottieri - it is raised automatically regardless of the maintenance slider - but otherwise impossible.
2. Yes, but it requires the use of 3rd party programs [such as SAM] - they are reset on Steam's side.

How does the Music Player works? I have unselected a lot of Songs I don't want to listen anymore but the System still plays them. Do I have to do something else? I also got some Songs that are recognized with 0:00 play time. How can I delete them?
The music player only comes into effect when in-game.
Unfortunately, as useful it might be I prefer the context-played songs**.

**well, hopefully it is fixed in 1.20.

1. What do you recommend for artillery as time progresses (right now its 1575 and I have one artillery per 14,000 stack)
2. As France, my De Valois dynasty died out and I was replaced by Poland's Tarnowski dynasty... is there a way I can get a personal union with Poland?
3. And lastly how can I gain more military leaders, as France in 1575 I have only 2 and thats used up on a Conquistador and naval explorer.
