How long would it take to integrate Spain after an PU? I've had my dynasty on the Spanish throne for nearly 200 years, but didn't have the opportunity to actually claim it. I'm nearing the 1700's and am wondering if I can ever get it or that it would be too late. So I'm actually looking for the latest date on which to PU Spain so they can be integrated. It's a pretty normal Spain, with the Iberian and Italian lands, with a foothold in Morocco and a couple of very large colonies. Integrated a large Russia once, but that took nearly 100 years so with the 50 year waiting time it might already be too late.
Also I wondered if it is WAD when you have a queen recency for a young heir with a weak claim, that I can't claim the throne cause 'not same dynasty' while the heir is of my dynasty but the queen regent is not.
you can likely start integrating spain in 1810, and still finish integrating them, if you own admin+influence+diplomatic and stacked dip rep. On admin eff 3, they will likely be less then 1000 to integrate. And you can easily integrate at 7-10 a month, making spain integrate in 100 months or less, aka 7-10 years. if you don't have the reduction to vassal annexation cost, then 1780 or '90 should be safe.
Point being: Do NOT integrate PU subjects before 1750. EVER. They are best possible subjects, and should only be integrated on admin efficiency 3, after 1750. Before 1750, integrate small vassals, but NOT the PU. Especially if its colonizer PU. You can let them colonize for you and integrate them lategame, and you get all their CN.
as for your second question: I pointed this 'problem' out to the devs, and got 'we will evaluate the rule' as response, meaning they see consort regent leading dynasty change as 'working as designed'.
But, 'throne claim' does not get lost on consort regency for weak claim heir, but it gets blocked due to the wrong consort leading dynasty if you did NOT claim throne before it. that might be buggy. never really tried this for myself, but it does sound weird.
